Woke up and told my husband that I wanted to have kaya toast and coffee and he found this place!!
We were warmly welcomed by the boss (I assume) and he directed us to a table where it is well ventilated with a fan (but my husband does not want it to be directly blowing) hence we chose the table near the pillar which was also good (I’m able to reach for the tissue!!) 🤭
He also asked if it’s first time here and gave us recommendations on the food!!
The curry noodles (soup version) was the best! My husband and I both the curry a lot and it was the curry that was holding the fort 🤣
Whereas for the wonton noodles, yes, we both love egg noodles but I guess it’s the chilli that brought out the flavour more! (I guess its just that the both of us love our food if it is more flavourful, salty 😅🤣)
And then, comes the Double Butter Kaya Toast (OH MY, look at that butter) and the moment we bite into the toast, it was so crispy and it just melted inside our mouth.. and that was when I decided to take pictures of the menu BECAUSE when you see that there is a 正 (zheng) word at the side (it means BEST in Cantonese) I hope I didn’t assume wrongly..
Which led me to ordering the Butter Kaya Crunchy Peanut Sugar Bun because of the 正! But I wished it was the toast more than the bun.. it was so filling that I thought that I could order the Chee Cheong Fun (as recommended by one of the staff!!)
Lastly, the drinks - Salted Kopi Ping and Milk Tea C (both iced).
Husband loves the salted kopi ping because we don’t have it in Singapore 😅 and it brings out a different way of having coffee! Just like how luckin add in butter to have butter latte..
I love my milk tea iced as it was perfectly done when I first drank it BUT after all my food, the ice melted and my less sweet milk tea becomes less less sweet 😅🤣
No longer as nice as the first sip!
Overall, great experience and we would come back again! 🤭🤭 we came around 1:30pm and there were still people around alongside seats that are available!
Not too hot as it is mainly well...

But hey, I'd say it's worth it. You just have to come to this restaurant 1/2 hour before you get really hungry. So If you wanna test your luck of the day, try this restaurant 🤭
Food: 😋 yummy! Especially if you're a pastry maniac. Try their butter kaya croissant if you want something buttery. Have their peanut something kaya toast (sorry lupa the food name but you will recognise it once you see it In the menu cause that's 1-in-a-million (there's a song of this title so u can play that song in your head)😁) one of the advantages if you order cold drinks is that they pack it like the bubble milk tea style so you can still take away and continue drinking it while you walk out of the restaurant. No wastage! Whoever thought of this in their restaurant is a genius!👍 Also, Wan than mee is good. That laksa curry + char siew + siew yoke will checked all the boxes since you want it all. You piece of greedy foodie😏
Service: wonderful & polite 😀 Well, excuse them if they get you the wrong order or food, I mean, c'mon, this is life, sometimes people make mistakes if things gotten out of hand a.k.a busy. Kesian them, they work non-stop can't even go to washroom just to fulfill your stomach & palate requests. Again, that's where your patience is testes when you're HAngry. Remember, stay calm. All is well. 😁
Environment: bright! clean & enough space for you to squeeze through. 😉

Read moreIn KL where hainanese styled kopitiams are aplenty, Yi Feng stands out as one of the better ones for me. I have been here on numerous occasions and this time around, I ordered their wan tan mee with siew yoke, char siew and poached chicken together with my usual fares of half boiled eggs and hot coffee. I am pleased with the taste of the noodles. They were springy and the soy sauce did a good job of coating the noodles in flavours especially with the frgrant garlic bits and oil. I personally think that if it was served with more aromatic pork lard oil and deep fried pork fat cubes, it will certainly elevate the entire bowl of noodles. The wan tan tasted good to me with its pork filling. I would also recommend to try the chilli sauce if you want that extra zing. Moving on to the proteins, I wasn't disappointed with the siew yoke. The skin was always crispy in all my past visits and the meat wasn't too dry with a good fat to meat ratio. Likewise, the char siew was also pretty tasty. The poached chicken was normal in my opinion but complimented the noodles well nonetheless. As for the coffee, it was smooth velvety rich just like what I would expect in a good hainanese kopitiam. The roti bakar was also good, crunchy with generous spread of kaya and butter. It went very well with the fresh half boiled eggs. All in all, I am happy with the taste and quality of food served. I would recommend this place but do come early as the parking here can be...
