If you're a fan of bold, authentic Malaysian flavours, Nasi Vanggey in Kuala Lumpur is a must-visit. Known for its rich heritage and unforgettable taste, this restaurant delivers everything you’d expect from a true nasi kandar experience — and then some.
Walking in, the atmosphere is lively yet welcoming. The restaurant is clean, well-lit, and comfortably spacious despite the steady stream of customers, especially during lunch hours. Service is fast and efficient, with friendly staff who are always ready to recommend dishes if you're unsure what to pick.
Of course, the real star here is the food. Nasi Vanggey is famous for its signature fried chicken — crispy, aromatic, and tender to the bone. It’s perfectly marinated and fried fresh, making every bite a satisfying crunch of flavour. Pair it with a plate of warm rice, a generous splash of their legendary kuah campur (mixed curry gravies), and you’re in for a true culinary delight.
Other highlights include the mutton curry, sambal sotong, and telur masin, all of which are rich in taste and cooked to perfection. The gravies are what really set Nasi Vanggey apart — each ladleful adds layers of spice, creaminess, and depth to the dish, creating that iconic “banjir” (flooded) style that fans adore.
Prices are reasonable, and portions are generous. Whether you’re dining in or packing for takeaway, you’ll leave feeling full and satisfied. It's no wonder Nasi Vanggey has a loyal following.
In short, Nasi Vanggey Kuala Lumpur is more than just a meal — it’s an experience. If you're craving a hearty, spicy, and truly Malaysian plate of rice, look no further. This is comfort food...
Read moreOrder my nasi vanggey through Grab as I am not sure what to eat during the lunch hour just now. Well, it really surprised me. The nasi vanggey is really really sedap. The chicken is fresh. And the taste is sort of, I ate before. After reading from the nicely printed wrapping paper, no wonder the taste, well, its nasi ganja Ipoh franchise company. Anyone who wish to eat nasi ganja, but no time to travel to Ipoh, can always eat this Nasi Vanggey. You don't even need to pay for helicopter to fly to Ipoh. You can just go there yourself or order through Grab food. And our Abg Grab rider can make some income too. Highly recommended to...
Read moreThe food is bad. Some of the chicken tasted like nothing. VERY bland. It’s like the chicken was fried with oil alone. Not to mention the staffs are unfriendly. When i asked to put only a little bit of gravy on my rice, he went and scoop a whole ladle of gravy! And i only asked for the curry gravy but he mixed all the gravies and put it on my rice. I even said stop loudly and he ignored me, acting like he didn’t hear me. Urghh. Luckily my lunch was saved(kinda) by their signature drink. I ordered mango tea longan and it was superb. The one star I gave was solely because of that drink. Definitely will never come here...
