May 2025 First impression: SO MANY CHOICES OF FOOD HERE!!! plenty of seats and space — macam wedding hall without the free buffet. But oh dear, whoever designed the chair and table height clearly never sat down to eat a proper meal before. I went in for bruch, came out needing a chiropractor. Back pain bonus, FOC.
Now, the RM9 Char Siew Wantan Mee — let’s just say, if this was a song, it would be "Public Flavor" by Nobody Special. The char siew? Hard like it just escaped from a dental-training dummy. And why, oh why, i hate it served on a plastic plate that looks like the wind from a fan a blow it away.
Next, the RM12 Fish Head Noodle. Honestly, should just rename it to “Condensed Milk Hotpot.” I suspect one full tin of condensed milk sacrificed its life in that bowl. Rich? Yes. Overly milky? Also yes. Fish head was fried, got bones everywhere, and trying to eat it with a spoon and chopsticks was like doing surgery with gardening tools. Every bite was a gamble between flavour and fishbone CPR.
And finally, the RM3.50 peanut-and-corn pancake. Okay lah, not bad. Sweet, crunchy, familiar. Tastes okay, but got no "wow" — just "meh." Like that one colleague who always shows up but never contributes anything exciting in a meeting.
Overall verdict: spacious seating, but uncomfortable for both your spine and your soul. Flavours? Safe, predictable, and disappointing. Will I return? Maybe… if I lose a bet.

Read moreSam Gor Kopitiam offers an impressive variety of dishes that cater to diverse palates. Although we initially visited to try their renowned RM35 jumbo curry noodles, which were unfortunately sold out , we were delighted by the alternatives we chose.
The crispy pork and cockles curry noodles were exceptional. The curry was delicious and fragrant, with just the right amount of coconut milk, resulting in a soft and creamy texture. The fresh cockles and decadent crispy pork belly slices elevated the dish further.
We also sampled the Prawn Noodles, which delivered an authentic Penang experience. The broth was rich with umami and the natural sweetness of prawn flavor, making each spoonful delightful.
The crispy popiah stood out with its fresh and crunchy texture, thanks to the julienned carrots, jicama, and egg floss. It was a refreshing and satisfying choice.
Lastly, the lor mee featured chewy noodles complemented by a thick and tangy sauce, providing a comforting and flavorful finish to our meal.
Overall, Sam Gor Kopitiam impressed us with its diverse menu and quality dishes. We look forward to returning, hopefully to try the elusive jumbo...
Read moreIt is totally by chance that I came across this kopitiam. It was around lunch time and I noticed there was parking available. Since it was Friday afternoon, I decided to just chance it.
There are quite a number of hawker stalls so it was actually a bit of a challenge to decide on what to eat. In the end we settled for the seafood noodle and the chee cheong fun.
The ingredients used for the seafood noodle are super fresh and the pricing may seem high considering it's a kopitiam but then considering the quality, I would say it is quite reasonable.
Taste is great and the portion is also quite big.
As for the chee cheong fun, I kinda liked the curry sauce. Most of the time, the curry is quite watered down but it is quite flavorful here. The yong tau fu pieces are also quite reasonably sized.
Seating can be a problem and since the whole place is just a zinc roof shed, it can get rather...
