Throwback last Friday’s our ladies nite: Was contemplating for sometime, finally decided to share our food experience.
Recommended by a friend, this should be a nice place for food & drinks, as it was an open roof top lounge with great food.
Then, we made reservations for our girls nite out, for one of our bff birthday. But unfortunately it was raining most of everyday last week, they informed us that we were unable to have our table on open roof coz they do not have parasol.
Since it was last minute, we decided to take a table under the veranda. But that was not our main concern as long as food is good.
We ordered some drinks, a Caprese cheese salad (aka Caesar salad 🙄), Mediterranean pizza (with tomatoes, capsicum, onions & olives) & The Sampler (deep fried platter which consist of prawns, meat balls, chicken drummets, potatoes coquettes, fries, mini garden salad & a thousand island fruits salad)
The nightmare started, with Caprese cheese salad, aka Caesar salad. Just a simple salad, how wrong can it be? The croutons were not crispy, feels like air has gone in and tasted like some stale bread corners that you’ll use to feed fishes in a pond.
Then, the Mediterranean pizza was served cold, unlike having steamy hot pizza out from the oven. Taste was bland. We added some chilli flakes & Parmesan cheese flakes to try reviving some aroma. When we flipped the pizza over, the base dough was pale while, like uncooked & doesn’t look like freshly made. Even my kids can bake much better pizzas using simple ingredients than this.
Lastly, the most horrifying dish, The famous Sampler. Everything looked like it’s been deep fried repeatedly. Overly salted & coated with spices, trying to cover up some mishaps. The prawns are not fresh. Flesh is flaky & falling apart. Meatballs tasted like frozen meatballs you get from supermarkets, even road side night markets curry meats balls taste better than these. The drummets were not fresh & overly coated with flour. Fruits salad looks more like it was made since the beginning of the pandemic. Lastly was the disgusting potatoes croquettes already gone rancid with weird sour taste & smells pungent. I took a first bite tasting it weird, then a second bite to be sure, have to spit out the food.
We made complaints about the food to a waitress, but seems like nobody cares. So, we paid our bill & asked for our cake. Then, a chef came out offering us a complimentary dish due to the awful disgusting food we returned & apologies stating that the meal will be complimentary for us. But we said already paid in full. Then he just left us there without any comments. Somehow, their GM sensing our dismays & approached asking us about our dissatisfaction. Calling out their head chef to understand our situation. Apologies for our unfortunate experience & offers to serve us another meal & drinks. We declined the offer & explained that this experience already put us off food & mood, not even wish to stay for free drinks nor cutting our birthday cake. The GM, Mr Peter, agreed on full refund and assured us that he'll look into the matter and revert the outcome.
Having discomfort burping & weird taste in my mouth throughout the night, finally the food made its way out when I brush my teeth before bed. Luckily, I felt better without further food poisoning.
Lastly, with all these food drama that we encountered, we totally forgot about the view outside open sky lounge overlooking the city nor take any...

Read moreThe most terrible experience of my life at a restaurant. I ordered salad and after twenty minutes the waitress came to tell us that they are out of stock with salad then we ordered burger. After 20 minutes of waiting we asked where our order was and we’re told they are out of stock with burgers as well?! Nobody even bothered telling us and we were just sitting there waiting for food for 40 min. Then we ordered sandwich and we were waiting for another 20 min with no sign of our order coming after which we just left the restaurant with empty stomachs. More than an hour wasted with no food. We weren’t even given a proper apology or any compensation for this. What kind of a restaurant is this where they can’t even serve food? Highly suggest for them to change their staff if they want this restaurant to have customers in future. They lost not just one but three regular ucsi student customers today and we’ll be sure to tell other ucsi students not to go here also....
