Today 1/9 dine in at wasabi plus Cheras. Seated at table 23. Ordered Godzilla Roll, Phoenix Roll, Salmon Mentai, Ebi Tempura and green tea. Order took by middle age women. After all the food was served, I tried all. The food was acceptable except the phoenix roll, I did told one of the staff (wearing white shirt and wearing cap) the taste of salmon is not fresh. He said he will bring the plate down and shared with culinary chef who on duty on 1/9. The funny thing is after 5-10 mins he brought back the food and told me the roll taste like this due to salmon is smoked salmon. To be honest, I tried the Japanese food at zanmai, sushi tei, sakae sushi and others Japanese restaurant, I know how the smoked salmon taste like. I’m not sure did he really passed and share with chef or just to entertain me ?? By the way, I never touch the food after he brought back to our table. Once finished my dinner, I went down and Brian who wear black tee at cashier counter ask how was our dinner, I told him, the Phoenix Roll is not fresh and I never touch the food. He immediately apologise and remove the item and green tea from the bill. I can said Brian is one of the treasure of your restaurant, at least he listen the feedback/complain from your guest rather like your staff or chef that always think they are right and the food is no issue. I feel shame for the staff seem like no proper training how to handle guest complain. For the chef who prepare the food who always think their food is 100% perfect. To be honest, how I know did chef tried his luck to serve the food that almost spoil to guest and always think they are right, why not the chef come to meet the guest after guest already complain the food ?! Perhaps the chef save the food cost margin below 39% ?! Anyway, Brian who save the day did the amazing job and beyond our service recovery expectation. I think I might come back because of Brian and Godzilla Roll. But definitely not the chef who on duty on 1/9 and service staff who wear the white color shirt serve us. Perhaps I wrote so long comment, nobody read thru, At least whoever read your outlet review can give their opinion. I want to give 5 stars for Brian, but 2 stars at your...
Read moreI saw Wasabi+ on my FB feed quite frequently. So two months ago, I finally made it to this Japanese restaurant with a friend at Taman Connaught. They do have eye catching food presented in an appetizing way, typical of Japanese food. So we had these 9 small dishes arranged in a square tray. Apart from the presentation, nothing really stands out in terms of taste that you would not find in many other Japanese restaurants. In fact, a couple of them were below average. Take for example, the grilled cod fish. It was bland tasting, quite far apart from the sweetness of its flesh that you would expect from a cod fish. Not to say that everything was bad. Just that with all the advertising on FB, I got a higher expectation. I did enjoy that creamy Udon with mentaiko. I love mentaiko and this combination with udon and the cream works quite well. That is something I would order again if I ever patronize Wasabi+ again.
As for the nine tasting dishes in the tray, I enjoyed the blanched and lightly marinated lady's fingers the most. My friend and I were deciding on who got the last piece.
The presentation of the unagi don was pretty spectacular for somebody like me who is not prone to choosing an unagi dish. I wished it tasted as good as it looks because I am too sensitive to the earthy taste of fish. Here, I could taste it.
All in all, I wouldn't say Wasabi+ is not worth a try. If you stay within the area, by all means savour in the good presentation of the food that tastes very similar to many other Japanese restaurants of this kind. You don't have travel far in other words. For me, since I was visiting a friend there, coming all the way from Puchong, it was a trip worth making. Without the meet-up, I can settle for something similar...
Read moreDear Manager,
I am a first-time customer of your restaurant, having visited for dinner on 20/9/2025. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing, which compels me to write this complaint.
During our meal, we were never informed in advance that there was a 90-minute time limit for dining. However, while we were still eating, a staff member suddenly told us that we only had fifteen minutes left because another party was waiting for the table. This abrupt notice made us feel rushed and disrespected, and it seriously affected our dining experience.
What made the situation even worse was the long waiting time for dishes to be served. Since this was à la carte dining, does that mean we are not entitled to order more dishes because of the time limit? Even the food we had already ordered was not finished by the time we were asked to leave. This was unreasonable and left us with the impression that the restaurant prioritizes turnover over customer experience.
Moreover, the food itself was not particularly impressive, and considering the prices, the overall experience fell far short of expectations.
As customers, we believe the restaurant should clearly inform guests of any dining time restrictions before they order, and should also take into account reasonable service times when enforcing such limits. Otherwise, guests feel rushed and disrespected, which leaves a very negative impression.
I sincerely hope your restaurant will take customer feedback seriously, review this issue, and improve your service process to ensure that similar situations do not happen again.
Sincerely, A...
