Sushi Zanmai KL East Mall — Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur

They are understaffed to deal with orders when all tables are fully occupied. I am not sure what the problem is, it mostly looks like the kitchen is just not able to cope with orders at the dining tables on top of Grab, Panda Shopee orders online.

Management clearly haven't done enough to hire chefs to deal with the peak hours especially on weekends. The sushi section especially is woefully understaffed.

Food is good when they finally deliver it but the wait times absolutely kill the joy of dining in.

Note to management, look, if you are cutting corners on budget for hiring then make it known to diners that wait times are longer for certain menu items so we wont come in but you don't do that because you want to entrap patrons to dine-in just so you bag a customer. Food was superb, friendly staff. Had to scan QR code for menu but due to the restaurant being in basement, our mobile data were not able to connect, but when we brought this up with the management they quickly asked us to use their wi-fi instead even though it wasn't a free wi-fi location.

The presentation of each food was amazing and each dish was refined. The moment we got to our table not once but twice did the waiter/waitresses ask would we like green tea and which we decline but kudos for their friendly service.

The sushi rice used leaves more to be desired, it felt smaller grain then expected The sushi rolls are also on the smaller side of sizes definitely not as satisfy as others to eat The dumplings have less then ideal filling, it felt like finely blended paste with very small chunks of shrimp in it, not a huge fan i prefered solid filling The tofu is actually good, ctispy outside soft inside

Overall okay food for okay prices, definitely not the premium kind of dining, so don't come in with high expectations and it will be okay
