Those days gathering and birthday celebrations - TGI is one of the spot that comes to our mine. Noticed the crowd nowadays is lesser. Below is my recent experience on my birthday last week at THI Bukit Jalil.
Food: Overall taste wise will acceptable, just the portion is so much lesser than before. My previous visit was in November 2024, so coming in just 6-months can see the different. Is it due to the promotion, portion had reduce as cost cutting measure? U can see other reviews who posted the food photos, even McD French fries is more than them.
Service Level: I really need to highlight this and hope u guys can really take this seriously. Friendly, courteous and alert is very important is the service industry. (Those days Dining in TGI use to be fun, very welcome and makes u feel like coming back).
The staff that serve us is really unfriendly and when we ask question he dint bother to answer and I need to asked 2-3 times, then only he said wait i come back to you.
When taking order, this waiter keep making mistake and putting in extra order which we dint ask for.
When i stand up and look for the payment counter (walking around), 3 staff just standing just 2 tables away (busy chit chatting with each other) and dint even bother to ask what I looking for.
One last thing when I making payment, the standy show promotion 30% pay with cash back. Staff that handle our able also unsure about the promo. Without asking to find out, just told us, you need to pay with shop back account.
So I prompt further how the 30% + 5% works? Simply he reply that one shop back will pay you back as form of cash back.
(I dont expect every waiter to know everything, but at least have the courtesy to find out and get back to customer). He simply ask me to click a pay button via the apps, without find out from his supervisor or restaurant manager.
To me it's not about the cash back or promo. What matter most is the attitude with you dealing with customer. Management should really go to the ground; to ensure staff is competent and equipped with relevant info on any promo.
This experience really give me a thought: will I...
Read moreI recently visited TGI Fridays Pavilion Bukit Jalil, and while the food was decent and the overall ambiance was nice, I feel compelled to leave this review because of one major issue: the manager’s rude, arrogant, and completely unprofessional behavior.Let me be clear — I had no complaint about the food or the service from the regular staff. In fact, the staff were polite and attentive. The problem began when I simply asked to speak to the manager for a general inquiry. There was no issue, no conflict — just a basic question. But when the manager arrived, his attitude was cold, dismissive, and disrespectful from the very beginning. He didn't greet us properly, didn’t make eye contact, and spoke as if we were disturbing him. His tone was unnecessarily harsh, and it felt like he was doing us a favor by even acknowledging our presence. There was no professionalism, no courtesy — nothing you’d expect from someone in a managerial position at an international restaurant chain. We tried to continue the conversation respectfully, but he interrupted and talked over us, unwilling to listen or engage in any meaningful way. His body language and tone made it clear: he didn't care about guest satisfaction at all. What’s worse is that even the staff seemed uncomfortable — as if they were used to this behavior but couldn’t say anything. That’s disappointing and sad, because a toxic manager can easily demotivate a hard-working team.To the upper management at TGI Fridays: please take this seriously.Your brand reputation is only as strong as the people representing it on the ground. A rude manager can undo all the good work your team is doing. This individual clearly lacks the leadership, attitude, and training needed to manage people and serve customers.I will not be returning to this outlet as long as this manager is still in charge, and I strongly discourage others from visiting unless...
