Yakiniku Syokudo Yae 八重子烧肉 (Non-Halal) — Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur

First and foremost, the food is great. First time was a month ago, we had awesome experience with this shop, so we came for second attempt with my relatives from oversea. However, the thing that upset me the most is the staff’s extremely terrible services. When we arrived at the shop, they handed us a menu which had already been used and never erased properly, with cross and tick (their menu is like they will provide you with a marker pen and you just put any kind of indication to indicate what you want to order, for me, we will understand as we can put the quantity on the square box, while for the already ticked and cross marks, we tried to erase but it couldn’t be erased, so of course we will assume it is out of stock or it might be their internal indication), then we just ordered whatever kind of food that we wanted to order. After long waiting of 20 mins, when they served us the food, all the food were not something that we ordered. We tried to communicate the issue politely with them but one of the staff just showed us attitude and threw tantrum at us, we tried to explain but his English wasn’t fluent, hence we just told him that he can cancel the whole order and we can reorder again. Then, another staff (I assume she’s the restaurant manager because she was giving instructions and all) came and talked to us in an impolite way and was trying to say that we were the fault parties because we should have known that the ticks indicate previous customer’s order and only crosses indicate out of stock. (HELLO, WE TRIED TO ERASE BUT IT COULDN’T BE ERASED, SO NOW ITS OUR JOB TO TAKE GOOD CARE OF YOUR MENU AS WELL?!) Then we reorder, worse part was that they didn’t immediately key in our order but they served all the other customer (2-3 tables) who came after us and let us starve and wait (total waiting was around 50 mins). What a nightmare, I have to admit that the food was nice but the staff’s service and attitude were terrible, there’s no more words to describe our terrible experience. Tbh I never got this HANGRY before.

Update another worse incident happened: When we were making payment, the bill showed RM170+, then we paid via card, the payment made was in the end deducted RM347+… In the end we paid for something else?!

Update: In the end we got to know that we paid the bill of another table :) After payment voided and correct payment made, the staff didn’t even apologise, PERFECT SERVICE...

Japanese BBQ restaurants ... selling skewers , rice , noodles n alcoholic drinks ... The skewers is okay ... slightly dry n insufficient taste ... However the BBQ meats are better n tastier ... the beef meat (brisket n Karubi) are nice n tasty ... a bit salty ... The Eihire ( Stingray fin) is nice n tasty ... suitable as a side dish for drinking alcohol ...the Saba fish is just okay but a bit salty ... The Tonkotsu Nabe n Ramen is nice ... The broth is tasty ... The Hokkaido Scallop is nice n fresh ... Must try ... a rice will be served using the scallop shell ... The ladyfinger is okay n slightly salty ... The environment is small n it's an open air stall concept ... Thus the ventilation is okay ... Although no air cond n just some fans ... It's not hot ... There is an outdoor seating too ... The pricing is at mid high n high ... depending on...

Sit outside, drink ice (very) cold beer, and have a thoroughly tasty BBQ! If that’s what you are looking for then this is the spot. Pork belly is particularly tasty once you smoke it a little on your own charcoal BBQ. Staff are kind and informative and super quick to react if the rain does come in, as well as being quick to clear plates, bring out orders, and keep an eye on anyone who needs their next drink. Price is on the point for this kind of experience. Get the edamame and potatoes to go with your meats and you’ll be very happy indeed! Only think that would improve the experience is an English translation of the BBQ meats on the menu, but to be fair perhaps we just needed to ask the staff....
