Our family loved the food especially the restaurant fish head hot pot. We visit frequently whenever we are in KL and my siblings who live nearby visit e very now and then. We used to think this is a friendly and good customer service restaurant. This changed on 1/1/2020. We were back from overseas, visited the restaurant again. The owner initially put us in one table, we requested to split to two instead. (There were at least fourtables vacant after splitting us). We ordered our food separately but paid in one bill. We were not that hungry our table ordered only two dishes = Hot pot cost $98 vegetarian pot $28 (both medium) The owner asked "only two?" I replied with a smile "yes, we just had our breakfast not long.) Without completing my sentence he turned and walked away. I thought I was sensitive. When the food served the vegetable pot had mostly cabbage and not other vegetables. I then briefly commented the vegetable pot was different from other table who ordered the same dish. My brother replied he is not surprised. After a few rounds of asking, he then told me he overheard the conversation between the boss and his wife who sat at the cashier counter complaining that he shouldn't have given given us tables as we ordered only TWO dishes! He should have let us squeeze like Sardine! Not only that he added some unpleasant words *^^$#!@# and the wife too! I wanted to confront, but stopped by hubby and brother not to do that, just make sure we know and never go again. I fully aware that the restaurant needs to make business if the business is busy we wouldn't have ask to split the table. Even though we ordered two dishes + rice + tea and etc. Our table bill cost more than $130 excluded the other table who ordered four dishes + tea + snacks and etc. Do we deserve this kind of ”service"? Where is the customer service? When we walk out the restaurant the boss will thank us for patronising. He ignored us, sat outside his restaurant browsing his mobile (I should have taken a photo of him). I am not a person who likes to post, in fact this is my very very first time posting and never like to comment anything on restaurants even though with bad service but this is too outrages. Not just only us, any walk in customer should not deserve this kind of treatment!. Hence I post to inform everyone of the owners bad behavior...
Read moreOur experience at this restaurant as a family was absolutely horrible. To start, the captain who was assisting with our order tried to push the most expensive dishes and the largest portions, assuming everyone in our group was a big eater. As a result, we ended up with far too much food that we couldn’t even finish. However, the worst part was the rude lady boss, who treated us as though we were trying to cheat over bowls of rice and snacks. When we politely corrected her, saying we only took two servings, she became agitated and insisted the record showed four. She even called all her staff to the cashier to validate the claim. The same happened with the tea charges, where she argued that she had calculated it based on the number of adults, completely ignoring the fact that we had informed her workers that most of us just wanted plain water. Some of us can’t sleep after drinking tea—it wasn’t an attempt to be cheap. Despite our explanation, she blamed us for not informing her staff, even though we had.
The bill ended up being RM1600, which was absolutely not worth it. The food was nothing special, and the service was appalling. The menu isn’t even kid-friendly. We will definitely never return—this is a definite NO for family events! Thumbs down...
Read moreWhen you visit Rue Ee Teochew Restaurant, be sure to indulge in their standout dish, the Fish Pot. This charcoal hot pot features succulent Longtan (grouper) fish, bite-sized yam cubes, tomatoes, bean curd, and a medley of aromatic herbs like coriander or parsley (my bad for not being able to differentiate between the two). The broth evolves in richness and flavor as you savor it, reaching its peak towards the end. As a bonus, you can catch a glimpse of the live giant grouper fish in their tank on your way to the restroom.
Although I didn't initially order it, I immediately recognized the heavenly fatty goodness of their "BBQ Iberico pork belly", a dish whose name I wasn't aware of at the time, but I was certain it was pork belly. It's a dish not to be missed.
Friends visited a famous eatery in Berkeley, Klang, renowned for its fish pot too. There's no absolute verdict on which is tastier, suppose both establishments have their own uniqueness worth trying.
Considering the constant crowd during dinner hours, I recommend reserving a table in advance to ensure a delightful dining experience....
