CMCO - it caused me stranded in my hometown recently. My initial plan was to celebrate my birthday in Klang Valley but due to the recent spike in Covid-19 cases, I had to stay put to ensure the safety of my family. Oh well.. I had a great birthday albeit a simple one. We spent the whole day together at home. Come dinner.. the other half had booked a table at Ah Fatt Restaurant Raub, one of the oldest and popular restaurants in this town famous for Musang King durian. About 40 minutes drive but it was worth the trip, as the quality of the food made up for the effort. ◾steamed patin - it's not wild patin but man, the meat was sweet (but not as firm as the wild one) without the muddy taste. Coupled with simple, clear yet good quality soy sauce, I couldn't find fault in the fish really. And it cost only RM60! ◾German style deep fried pork knuckle - highlight of the dinner rather than letting the fish took centerstage. Braised until the meat soft and flavourful before deep fried... Everyone was fighting until the last bit of meat on the knuckle. It brought out my carnivorous appetite. Priced higher than the fish at RM80 but it was huge ◾Braised goose web with mushroom, fish cake and bak choy - one of the earliest staple dish in Chinese wedding, this didn't come cheap but the wifey held nothing back. For me, I'd prefer to order something else even though the dish was quite good. ◾Sizzling taufu with egg and minced meat - served still sizzling on the plate, the waitress mixed everything together and we did the eating. ◾Stir fried green dragon vegetable I brought along a bottle of Australian Bordeaux blend to celebrate my birthday dinner which proved to be good pairing with the dishes.

We came here on a Friday afternoon, around 130pm. We ordered Romaine lettuce, prawns and Tapah fish. All 3 dishes were very delicious and prices were reasonable. The fish was just nice and not overcooked, though I felt the ginger paste they used could be improved. They have their own parking lot and the toilets are spacious and clean. When I asked one of the staff to add water for our tea, she told us that they lock-up at 3p.m.

Only manage to dine here after so many times in Raub because most of the time it was closed when are in the area. Our lunch was relatively simple with 2 plates of noodles and a veggie. The Yee Mee was nice but find the Hor Fun a bit too starchy. Wok hey was there. The veggie was fresh. A good local Chinese restoran in Raub.

This Chinese restaurant is probably one of the best in Raub, serving fresh and tasty foods. I tried the steamed freshwater patin fish cooked with soy sauce , and it was really good! I also tried braised pork tofu and a dish of fried vegetables, all were good! Highly recommended if you are at Raub. This restaurant is air-conditioned and service is fast. There are ample parking just outside the restaurant. Turn left at the junction directly opposite the famous Ratha curry fish head corner shop, and you will see this restaurant. Taste: 5 stars Service : 3 stars Price : 4 stars (Patin 1 kg RM80, or follow market price) Ambience : 3...

Have been visiting Raub at least twice a year for the past 30 years.

This is by far the best banquet-quality restaurant in Raub town centre. Taste and quality have been excellent and consistence. We like the crispy suckling pigs in our recent visit. price wise is slightly higher.

There is another newer and bigger restaurant, Sentosa but slightly out of the town centre on the way to KL. sentosa is good too especially the steamed Patin fish. but overall, we still like Ah Fatt because of the taste and wider...
