We visited for dinner on a weekday, arriving just before 7:00 pm, and found the restaurant already bustling with diners, mostly locals. This speaks to its popularity. Parking can be a bit challenging, but there is proper street parking nearby if you're willing to walk a little. Despite the crowd, we were seated promptly and our orders were taken quickly.
We ordered Steamed Fish (RM34.00), Butter Mantis Prawn (RM25.00), Sizzling Bean Curd (RM15.00), and Heavenly Four King (RM12.00). Although we ordered size S for all dishes, the portions were equivalent to M size in other restaurants, making them quite generous. The prices are very reasonable. The Steamed Fish was very fresh and perfectly steamed. The Butter Mantis Prawn was average, but the other dishes were excellent. The Sizzling Bean Curd with Salted Fish was very appetising and the Heavenly Four King had good "wok hei." White rice was RM2.00 per plate, and hot water for our own tea was RM2.50.
Even though the restaurant was full, the food arrived quickly. The provided condiments, garlic, and chilli padi were fresh. Cleanliness was acceptable, though not the best, and it can be a bit hot due to the crowd. It was slightly uncomfortable having people stand close by waiting for our table. They also lack serving staff, so don't expect great customer service. Additionally, they only accept cash, no credit cards. Overall, it's a place for delicious and affordable food. Payment is made at the cashier on your way out. We'll definitely return the next time...
Read moreExtremely disappointed with this restaurant. I called ahead to make a reservation and was told they were fully booked, but we could try walking in. So we drove there, only to be met with rudeness and a complete lack of hospitality.
The staff were cold and unhelpful from the moment we arrived. I came to Kuantan with excitement, and this restaurant was highly recommended on Xiaohongshu — but what a letdown. At the counter, the staff simply said there were no tables and told us to “wait” without giving any proper explanation or estimated time. No effort was made to accommodate us, and their attitude was indifferent and dismissive.
The place was already crowded, and there were many people waiting outside. It felt like we were being treated as an inconvenience rather than guests. We came from out of town, and instead of enjoying a nice dinner, we had to fight for a seat with zero assistance.
Terrible service, poor attitude, and a completely overrated experience. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. A restaurant is not just about food — basic respect and...
Read moreFirst time trying here despite coming to Kuantan for so many times haha
Came here at 6.15pm during weekends and the seats inside are fully occupied/booked and luckily there are few tables left outside which located across the walkway of other closed stores beside it lol
Things that I've to applaud them would be their flash speed in delivering out our order despite the crowd they are having....that is insanely fast lol....never really expect this!
Food wise I feel it is just normal and nothing exceptional that surprise my tastebud. Out of all the dishes we ordered, 2 that stands out would be the beggar chicken (RM40) in herbal broth and the meat is soft which suitable for all ages to eat. Another one would be the salted egg squid fritter (RM38), evenly battered with well balanced sauce coating together with some bitter gourd in it.
It is a good experience for me to try once which is enough for now haha, price is quite reasonable as well ;)
Do take note that they only accept cash or duitnow QR, hope they can adopt credit/debit card in the...
