Experienced on 21 Sep 2019 (Saturday). We have a shock with the amount of customers this shop have when we arrived. Some customer even standing to wait for a table. We lucky enough that one table of customer is leaving and we quickly grab the table. Then the ordering system, we have slight difficulty as we were approaching the actual counter where they prepare the counter ( as we see many people in queue), the shop people ask us to go back to our seat and someone will come to take our order. It took a while after few rounds of signalling to the guy who do the ordering before he came to took our order, one chendol and one ABC for 4 people. We grabbed one pack of nasi lemak as most of the customer were eating it. Taste of the nasi lemak, hot and spicy but we loved it. Rice got the fragrance which enhanced the overall taste. Finally our orders arrived, chendol have the natural color and we think this is the gocha taste and we still like the one with thick gula melaka sweetness and the special fragrance. Anyway, each shop has it's own taste. The ABC is like those old good days type, simple with redbean and some corns. We did not order the durian chendol but we saw one old lady enjoyed it...
Read moreThis is the best cendol place in the whole of Malaysia, to me. I'm biased because I grew up here in Kuantan. But even when compared with the other famous cendol place, "M", I would say that this is much better. Why? Simple: quality and value cannot be compared. Just today, I took Durian Cendol .. cost rm15, I got 4 reasonably sized biji. The cendol is not extremely sweet, it is reasonably sweet, and this is an advantage to the customer; we get to taste the sweetness from the fruit itself. The other one I took was Cendol Tapai Pulut - which tasted not too sweet, but the fermented taste and smell could still be clearly distinguished. This is great cendol! When I went to the northern states, the ice was either too crass or the syrup too sweet, or... They put a few different types of syrup, which really defeats the essence of cendol. My only quip, is the atmosphere... It is certainly a simple establishment, I wish there were more space for people to move around and not...
Read more2023 - We were so pleased and surprised that they're open during the ramadhan month. We could understand why, bc it was so popular w the non-muslim locals alike.
Fantastic cendol w a good balance of gula melaka, milk and ice - both the jagung and tapai version were awesome.
Temosa w fish & coconut filling was special.
Can't say the same for the ABCs. Too syrupy. Maybe I'm just not a fan of the red syrup at all.
Somehow the photo of the ABC jagung was without syrup but the it's with the red syrup... Of course.
We also ordered an Ais Jagung but it was really sweet.
Queue can get long but fortunately the wait is usually not too much.
Lots of curb side parking but when it's v crowded can be challenging to get one that's very near. Good idea to walk off the calories consumed though 😬
*Update 2025 - indeed the menu was a tad misleading as there isn't any red syrup in both the abc jagung or ais jagung but it is prepared w it. Temosa is special but...
