A Satisfying Stop at Old Town White Coffee, Genting
I recently had a thoroughly enjoyable meal at Old Town White Coffee in Genting Highlands, and I wanted to share my positive experience.
I ordered the classic Ipoh Chicken Hor Fun and a signature Old Town White Coffee. The Hor Fun was comforting and flavorful; the broth was rich and savory, and the shredded chicken was tender. It was exactly what I needed on a cooler day in the highlands. The White Coffee, as always, was perfectly creamy, aromatic, and had that distinct, smooth finish that keeps me coming back to Old Town.
Special Thanks to Kapil
While the food was excellent, what truly elevated the experience was the exceptional service provided by Kapil.
Kapil was attentive, prompt, and incredibly polite throughout my visit. He handled a busy period with grace and a constant, friendly demeanor, making sure every guest felt looked after. He was quick to clear my table and checked in just the right amount to ensure everything was to my liking without being intrusive.
It's clear that Kapil takes pride in his work, and his efforts made my lunch relaxing and pleasant. Thank you, Kapil, for the fantastic service! You're a great asset to the Old Town White Coffee team at Genting.

The saving grace of this place is the view from the balcony. What a shame the experience is brought down by old tired menus (as in really, the actual menu seemed tattered and old lol plus the menu itself seems like it hasn’t been changed in decades) and rewarmed food.
Not only were the omega eggs over done by kopitiam standards, they are tiny, for the price of rm8. You’re not even given a proper condiments in containers, all you get are 2 minuscule packets of soya sauce and pepper. Quite depressing by Malaysian standards.
Sambal sotong (ordered ala carte) is super spicy super oily but isn’t tasty. They were generous with the sotong which was weirdly overly chunky chewy and transparent.
Nasi lemak - looks can be deceiving. rewarmed, hard dry ikan bilis, the actual rice I would rate it a 3-4, overall the nasi lemak a 4-5 if im being generous. Nothing to shout about.
The roti kaya butter was actually a bit soggy. Stale bread, perhaps not toasted well.
Overall hearts of staff and view were right up there but a sad tired menu and ambience that weighs the whole experience down to the dumps. I will never come here again not if I...

Ordered kaya butter toast for breakfast and the taste is good. Little bit disappointed where they should serve brown breads but they don’t have stock of it. After they get our permission we agreed with white breads.
We have to go to counter to place our order. However the time taken for us to place the order is long. Before us there are two persons in the queue, and the overall time taken for order placed is almost 5 minutes. This is because cashier informs the kitchen staff our orders before he confirms in the system. That takes some time.
Serving time a bit slow too, two of us finished our food then only the third person’s food was served. However overall...
