If this review was made earlier when this place had just open, for a few years, i would have given it a 5 star. My family & I were delighted when this cafe offers one of the 1st halal dimsum cafes in Ipoh (the other 1 did not last long). This was our regular eating spot until a few other dimsum cafes open. But still, greentown dimsum remained our favorite. The malay cake is one of the thing that, to us, set it apart from the other cafes. However, we notice over the last few years how the cake has transform to a lesser version of the earlier cake but still good. Our recent visit, however, was a shocker. The malay cake was nothing like what it was before. This time, even the taste had gone, not to mention the look & the texture, as well as the size reduction. Just look at the picture of the cake we had & the picture of the cake on the board! They have got rid of the almond flakes & cut the use of palm sugar (taste more like just plain brown sugar). Another thing, our siew mai was almost half the original size ( while they still serve 3 siew mai per serving, each siew mai has its size reduces to almost half). Seriously, there is just no reason to come here anymore. Its a pity, cos while the prices has almost double from when the shop 1st open, which we can accept bcos of the increase in raw stuff etc, but to increase prices & to reduce standard/serving size? I feel sorry for this place.

Finally made it to one of the first halal chinese owned dimsum houses in Ipoh. Not sure how it was when it first opened, but now although they do serve acceptable dimsum and dishes, it is just managing a passable rating with hits and misses. The fillings are sometimes delicious but then let down by the skin, as exampled by the siew mai that had its snow skin broken. I think this can be summarised by the ‘lokek’ in the ingredients, whereby if they do not stinge the food would be over the top. Imagine chinese noodles without any seafood, even a couple of shrimps would have sufficed, and you would get my meaning . Overall, a good place for someone who just started to try out halal chinese yum cha, but for those with an already developed taste would be better to look elsewhere in town. I keep saying my chinese boys in Ipoh would be complaining loudly if they dined here during the meal.

Just had a fantastic dim sum feast at Greentown with 9 friends! The waiters were super friendly and helpful, guiding us through the menu and making sure we had everything we needed. The food itself was amazing! The Chinese Fried Rice was a must-try (seriously, so good!), and the Salted Egg Lava Pau was pure gooey gold. We also loved the Siew Mai and Fried Prawn Dumplings (those crispy skins!). Prawn Dumplings were solid, and the Claypot Rice was a warming, flavorful winner. We even tried some noodles that hit the spot. To top it all off, the Coffee Ice was a perfect way to end the meal. Prices were reasonable, especially considering the quality and portion sizes. Overall, a fantastic experience! Highly recommend Greentown for a delicious and friendly dim sum feast. ☕️

We're chefs owning authentic western F&B.

Tried their foods few times now. Claimed to be JAKIM halal certified but don't see JAKIM cert posted on their wall among their business premise certs. By law they must post latest JAKIM halal cert with new 2D barcode.

The food prices are very reasonable to good affordability compared to many halal dim sum and halal chinese muslim places in Klang Valley. Quite authentic chinese cooking. Many variety of dim sum and other foods. Dim sum sizes are little smaller than usual but can't complain because of good prices. Dim sum quality better than any supermarket frozen ones and Mohd Chan restaurants. Their wonton size is larger than typical. A must try restaurant to all. Can even eat it daily for those prices.

Staff and owner services good and responsive. Place is clean. Parking in basement is RM1.

Food=4/5 Price=5/5 Ambience=3/5 (typical neighborhood restaurant) Service=4/5 Clean=4/5

WE DO HONEST... IN DEPTH REVIEWS SO THAT F&B OWNERS MAY IMPROVE... AND CUSTOMERS CAN DINE TO THEIR...
