One of the prime example why of foreign workers should not be manning a kopitiam. "Kopitiam" actually means coffee shop and you can only use this if it's managed by Chinese Malaysian. Upon waking in the premise, you might have the illusion of visiting Indonesia! The owner of this shop sits behind the counter counting $$$. You might think with foreign workers, it'll cost less? Nope, a cup of mediocre coffee cost you RM2.00 which is actually 20 cents higher the average price you can find in Ipoh (2020).

Update 2022 - Like others say, Akoko Wanton noodles is not there anymore, the replacement isn't as good, wanton broth taste like water. The drink stall still manned by a foreigner but this time he made better Kopi than my last visit before MCO. Cham C Kosong at RM2.40 which is way above average pricing which is around...

In terms of variety, there are the basic few restaurants that you'll see in most coffee shops, like Wan Ton Mee, Pan Mee, Chee Cheong Fun, and Western Food. The most popular item would be the Wan Ton Mee and Hong Kong Chee Cheong Fun, cause it's fast, cheap, and I would say one of the good ones in Ipoh. I can't say alot about their coffee cause it's been 2 years since I've drank the coffee there (Covid reasons), but from what I remember isn't the best, and is now quite expensive compared to other coffee shops. So it's quite an okay place.

P.s. When covid season ends, and dine in is allowed, and you decide to visit this place, come early cause patrons tend to take a very long time to leave their spots (mostly the...

One of the BEST PAN MEE (版面) EVER!! 🤩😍 it's not just the noodles, but it comes with pork balls and some meat cakes within (肉饼) and it is ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!! I'm a great fan of Pan Mee, so I know when it's good or bad... the one you get here is EXCELLENT!

You can also choose from HongKong Chee Cheong Funn ( 猪肠粉), Wantan Mee (云吞面), Prawn Mee (虾面), Western breakfast & Char Kuey Teow (炒粿条)!

STRONGLY RECOMMEND PAN MEEEEEE!!! (You can request for hand-peeled noodles instead of machine-cut... makes a HUGE difference in taste!)

Recent change in drinks vendor seemed to have improve the flavour of the...

South Point (南区) Cafe. The locals know this is one good coffee shop to take your breakfast. I particularly like the wonton noodles cooked at Akoko stall. Wonderful pork ribs, BBQ pork or braised chicken feet to go along with the usual wonton. Bite the noodles together with the pickled bird eye chilli to get the kick. Also available here are fried kway teow, chee cheong fun, small packages of nasi lemak (outsourced from a good hawker), etc. Remember to order the pumpkin barley here. Cooling and refreshing! Latest: As in year 2021, Akoko wonton noodle stall had shifted.
