Hollywood Hotel Ipoh — Hotel in Perak

The worst ever.Booked from agoda for DELUXE KING ROOM, but got room for rat-mouse sizing (READ : too small). Just bed, toilet and no enough space to walk, to put bags, to perform prayer, If we put all our stuffs, no place to walk i guess..Then we able to change room after complaining about the false ads (pay extra somemore), they allow to change fmly room (consider okay, 2 bed n have space to pray and walk, no issue with the toilet). Another worst part, while check in, the man receptionist seems dont bother to entertain customer, keep use handphone and very bad customer service. We asked for time extension until 4pm due to work purposes.He is so confident and advised the check out time at 1pm and can pay rm 10/hour.The next day, sharp at 12noon, our access card was barred(light was off as well as aircond).When we explained about the info we received, the different receptionist said it was wrong info.The check out time is suppose at 12pm and we are allow to extend for 1 hour only. If more than that,we have to pay full 1 day charge.So frustrated.Very bad service..Wont come again and wont promote to others!! I dont want to give even 1 star. it is suppose 0/5. This is my very first time to review a hotel. Female,traveled alone. I was arranged to a room at second floor. I’m sorry to tell, room sound insulation is not good at all. I experienced next door couple fought in the mid of night. I got awakened by the noise. the guest kept opening and slamming the door hard.I received twice stranger called at 5.35am while the fight was still ongoing. I didn’t pick up the call as the number is not same as the hotel number stated on Google. I voiced out my experience to the front desk while I was doing check out in the morning. Due to personal safety concerns, I didn’t take any action and decided to keep myself stay inside the room until check out. Eventually, I found out the stranger number is from one of the hotel staff. The front desk has no idea why their colleague used his personal number to call me. I have no idea why not the particular staff to reminds the problem one to mind their noise but chose to call me instead. I admitted that the situation and especially the twice stranger called was really scared me.

However, thank you for your service. But, I think…hmm yea, there is still room for...

The room provided was a health hazard and not suitable for any person to live in. The stench of black mold visible on the wall caused headache and trouble with breathing for my friend and I within 20 min from entering the room. We had to cancel the reservation immediately due to respiratory problems. There were also holes in the wall filled with just tissues. We were not previously informed that foreigners checking in with a passport pay additional fee.

The reception staff wasn't friendly but not problematic either. They offered to change rooms, told us to call the booking platform for cancelling and refund.

Amenities like toothbrush, water and coffee were provided, there was water dispenser in the corridor, the bathroom (except for the ventilator covered in dust) was alright. The bed linen was clean, but also smelled very moldy. This could be a normal budget room, nothing exceptional, but good enough for comfortable short stays, if not for the serious...
