If you've tried ditan hotpot, come try Lin Lao Shi instead. The meat and vegetables presentation are much better with higher quality choices.
I heard that 80% of the food is self sourced/made, hence the better selection and price. While we do end up paying a slight higher price for the food that we've taken, we enjoyed both the soup base and ingredients, paired with the mixture of condiments.
It's catered to a wide range of customers, so you can plan your budget wisely. If not, do spend extravagantly and you'll get the quality of what you ordered. Compared to restaurants like HDL that focuses on service, this focuses more on food quality and choices.

Also, we had the milky pork bone soup, which had good umami - the whole family enjoyed this much. You choose your carbs, proteins, vege and condiments from the chiller. These are displayed in food plates, hygienally cling film wrapped. Different coloured plates, priced to suit your budget and appetite. We had a small assortment of proteins, shellfish, fish paste, noodles and vege. Took too much food! The service is prompt - staff refill pots regularly. The temperature of the soup is readily controllable. Restaurant is very clean, no pesky flies....
