A random lunch venue while passing by paramount. This restaurant has been 15 years already.
Generous portion and reasonable price I would say. We had the milk based soup and it was not bad. It has a slight hint of fresh tomato which made the soup not too “jelak”. But I personally prefer more intense flavor so I added soy sauce myself. For lighter taste eater, it would be just nice.
The flavor of fried perch I ordered was good but I was slightly disappointed because it wasn't crunchy and kinda dry. Could be pre-fried and re-fried to-order. The signature deep fried fish paste was pungent but lack of bounciness. Prefer it to be more “Q”.
I would like to praise them for their “Teh C”. This is the first time I had great Teh C at a fish head noodle place. Thumbs up! Not much to mention about the atmosphere and service, but staff were friendly.
Latest update, both fried perch and grouper were dry and soggy during my second visit. Soup remained flavorful. Based on what I experienced, I would drop the rating...
Read moreI am writing to express my dissatisfaction regarding my recent dining experience at your restaurant on 9th Dec 2024.. I ordered the XO Garupa fish head soup, priced at RM24++, but I was served catfish instead. As a regular fish eater, I immediately noticed the difference in taste and texture. When I queried the waitress, she initially insisted it was garupa, but later admitted it was a wrong order. I also observed her signaling to another staff member at the counter, which reinforced my feeling that there was dishonesty involved. What made the experience even more upsetting was the implication that I might not know the difference due to my ethnicity. Serving a fish priced at RM9/kg in place of a dish valued at RM70/kg feels like an intentional attempt to mislead me. This kind of behavior damages trust and reputation. I hope the owner will take this complaint seriously, address the issue and ensure that other customers are not subjected to...
