Every 1st and 15th of lunar calendar, I make it a point to go on vegetarian mode. There are two (2) new vegetarian places that I've discovered recently.
One of them is Botanique and it is not uncommon to see full-house when it comes to these dates. More like a cafe than restaurant, the vegetarian dishes here are smaller given the price charged. However the overall taste resonated with my taste bud.
◾Fried ‘Goose’ Sheet RM12.90 for 12 sheets ◾Bentong Ginger Fish-less RM22.90 - the ginger paste was aromatic and flavourful. ◾Signature Tempe & Peanut RM22.90 was my favourite dish.. love both the combo of crunchy peanut and combo coated with sweet & slightly spicy sauce. ◾Osmanthus 'Macao' Egg Tofu RM22.90 homemade macao egg tofu with stir fried osmanthus vegetable and boiled broccoli was as closed as you could get on the traditional Chinese banquet dish of the past. ◾Sweet & Sour Lychee Hericium Mushroom RM28.00 - think of gu lou yuk but with mushroom instead. ◾Portuguese Style Hericium Mushroom RM25.00 - didn't know that they could whip out this version. Worked for me. ◾Stir Fry Organic Kailan with Salted Fish & Mushroom RM24.90 - valiant effort to replicate the taste of salted fish in vegetarian form. ◾Vegetarian Hakka Lei Cha or Green Goddess as they called it RM28.00 - vegetarian lui Cha although not using the same ingredients. ◾Claypot Curry Vegetables RM22.00 for me was just OK. Watery and not too fragrant. ◾ Braised Fungus & Hericium Mushroom with Vinegar RM25.00 ◾Special : Kerabu Paku Pakis was such a delight - pls make it permanent in the menu.

Read moreI recently had an incredibly disappointing experience at the Daily Greens and Grains stall in Food Avenue at Pavilion, and I feel compelled to share my thoughts here since I couldn't leave a review directly for the outlet. I paid RM19.90 for what turned out to be an unsatisfactory meal. The staff member mentioned that I could choose any noodles (mee or meehoon) with clear soup, but the menu photo only depicted the Yong Tau Fu and did not include the noodles. To make matters worse, the soup I received was a disturbing gray color, completely contradicting the "clear soup" advertised on the menu. I've never encountered a restaurant that separates the noodles from the broth when ordering clear soup noodles, which was very frustrating. Additionally, the service was far from pleasant; the staff was extremely rude, which only added to my displeasure. I urge you to avoid this outlet. The quality of the food and the service does not meet basic expectations. If you are considering entering the food and beverage industry, please do so with professionalism and respect for your customers and your brand. It's important to maintain standards, especially as the only vegetarian stall in Food Avenue. Save your time and money by choosing a different dining option. You’ll be...
Read moreI can't recommend this healthy clean eating restaurant enough! I frequent this restaurant 3-4 times a week. Their food is always cooked with quality and healthy ingredients, which makes it a guilt-free pleasure.
The owner, Ms Yee, is incredibly warm, friendly, and accommodating—she genuinely cares about her customers' experience. Not forgetting the staffs, they are very friendly and helpful too!
During the day, I love indulging in their "zap fan” or (mixed riced / dishes) which is always fresh and delicious. I usually take up to 4 or 5 dishes each time! Their à la carte dishes are also a real treat—satisfying and flavorful without any of the guilt. I always leave feeling happy and nourished. Just to name a few, my favorites are Vegan Toon Leaves Tofu, Black Bean Bittergourd, Vegan Eggplant Tofu Rice, Fish Head Noodles.. the list goes on.. 🫢
A special mention goes to the owners baking talent. The owner makes and sells her own bakes such as cookies, bread and mooncakes. They are absolutely delicious and, just like the rest of the menu, completely guilt-free. No surprise why this place has become a regular spot for me, and I’m sure it will for anyone...
