Carnaval Churrascaria — Restaurant in Petaling Jaya

Overall, I had a good experience. The owner is a friendly, polite man. He gave me some home-baked cinnamon rolls when I was paying. The salad buffet was average (I arrived at 8.30-ish so some of the salads are already finished). Their okra with sambal is a must try when you come here. The grill was amazing!! I loved their lamb shoulder, pineapple and garlic beef. My husband, on the contrary, doesn't like the garlic beef because the garlic taste is too strong. The meat is juicy and tender, medium rare just the way I like it. You're supposed to dip the meat in mint sauce and another homemade sauce which I have no idea what it is so no comment about it. Personally, I think the price is a little bit above average (RM90+ for an adult, Saturday night). The place is clean, it can be packed on weekends so please remember to make your booking.

It's just that there is 1 thing that I think need some improvement. One of the staffs (a guy, probably a Malay/Indonesian) was very rude to me. He came at my table, cut the meat and I was supposed to pick it up using a pair of tongs but as a first timer, I didn't know that. So once he finished cutting the meat, I gave him my plate and he looked at me with a serious face. He said "I don't need that" repetitively. I was confused. He could've just said "Pick the meat using the tongs", that would be very much easier to understand, doesn't it? So, I felt like he was being rude and sarcastic towards me. I said nothing about his behaviour to the owner of the place but next time if it happens again, I'm definitely gonna say something. Being rude towards your customers is unacceptable because we are the ones paying...

Very nice quiet family style Churrascaria. I ate here with a friend for their Ramadan buffet as part of our Klang Valley Churrascaria food hunt.

Best thing here is the service, nice old family serving us. We could see them checking every table to see if there was anything needed as well as just to greet the customers. The restaurant itself was smaller than other Churrascarias I've been to, but because of the decor and vibe it really feels much more relaxed and homey. Super nice for families I'd say. Cool European family owned restaurant feel to it.

Not sure if it's the area, but even the other guests were just very chill, not much noise, no one was rushing for anything which made the experience even better.

Now the only thing that wasn't as good as I would like is the food. A bit hard to put 5 stars if the best food I tried here was the wings, lamb shoulder and pineapple (love the pineapple). In terms of choice they do have less than others like Samba, Bife or even Muito Bom.

The sausages tasted quite plain. The only type of chicken were the wings. I don't think I even ate any picanha which should be a Churrascaria staple. The fish tasted a bit off. The garlic beef had some flavour but usually was quite tough. They had sirloin and brisket I think, those were good tho.

Overall I liked the place a lot especially with the vibe, the amazing service and the nice discount. Just hoped the food was just a bit better. The normal price is similar to other Churrascarias and I think because of that, it isn't the best for the choice you get. Would definitely come back for...

I am giving 5 stars based on my personal experience. So this is a subjective review instead of an objective one. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the staff and their service was memorable. Their wait staff constantly checked on us to ensure our glasses were filled and that we were well taken care of. The barbecued meat served was delicious. My personal favourite was the lamb and the fish. My family doesn't eat beef so I cannot comment on their beef, but I loved the tender, meaty, gamey taste of their lamb. The fish cubes were also delicious, not over cooked and flavored well. The chicken came in form of well roasted wings and in the form of chunks. H, and their grilled pineapple... sweet and delicious.
