Overall Experience: This is my second time to Chapati Lover. And out of all the food, I like their Garlic Cheese Naan and Chapati. The placed is air-conditioned with good ambience.
Overall Taste: I will be listing down the Food what I ate and what is my personal rating and opinion
Butter Chapati - 8/10 Usually at Mamak, I never ordered chapati. So when I eat here, it is like a better version of roti canai. Taste good.
Garlic Cheese Naan - 10/10 Oh I love their Garlic Cheese Naan. My only few comparison for Naan is with Murni and Kayu. I would choose here
Chicken Samosa - 5/10 I didn't really like the chicken Samosa is because there a lot for green peas and the spices inside I don't really prefer
Something(?) Samosa - 7/10 There is another Samosa type i took, the person in charge told me is milk? Haha well if you ask me, I prefer this over chicken samosa.
Dum Briyani Chicken and Mutton - 6/10 The Chicken and Mutton is amazingly soft, tender and it taste nice. I like it. As for the portion, it is huge (the one in the picture is like 1/5 of it) As for the briyani rice, is super spicy 😢 Hahaha for the two times I came here and I requested for no spicy or less spicy.. It turns out full blown spicy 🤣. Soo it's really kinda tough for me to eat it but still manage to finished it. Haha imagine spicy until nose block.. Ya is that level for me 😆 so if you like spicy, can try this 🤣
Overall Rating/TLDR: 8.5/10 I like their Garlic Cheese Naan...
Read moreWe love Indian style food but unfortunately, this place is not our favorite 🥲
Food
Plain Biryani (RM9.90) – Big portion, but not worth it. We have had the same portion for single serving in other PJ restaurants. Taste 6/10
Prawn Masala (RM25+) – Just a few pieces of prawns (seems frozen) in a small plate. Not worth it. 5/10
Chicken Curry – Taste ok but chicken pieces are very small like popcorn chicken, only a few medium pieces. 6/10.
Chapati – Ordered medium size but still looks small 🥲 6/10
Mutton – Can taste the mutton but flavor not strong enough.. feels lacking. 5/10.
Drinks
Requested normal sugar but tasted like less sugar. Requested no sugar but got less sugar. Masala tea was too watery, not rich in flavor.
Service – 5/10. Many people in the kitchen, but service was quite slow. The cashier had to take orders and prepare drinks, which caused mistakes. Luckily, it wasn’t crowded.
Also, most restaurants usually wear proper kitchen attire (like head covers), but not here.
Overall, okay to try once in a lifetime. Honest review from an Indian...
Read moreNew competition around the corner in this hood, but does this firstmover still standout? That was the question i had in mind, and hence a visit. It was a public holiday and we were the only patrons. Unpertubed, we ordered a chapati, two types of naan, rice with butter chicken, tikka mushrooms, mutton set, and some yoghurt. Preparation was brisk, whilst we enjoyed the atmosphere - clean and welcoming, albeit dated; case-in-point a tv screen playing mtv's. It was all north from there - food was served and a feast it was. Strong blended spices, but not too finely ground, punching through the creamy butter chicken with tantalising heat. Perfectly fllipped chapati, and pillowy soft and slightly gnashy naan. Chargrill from button mushrooms blended well with tikka spices. Mutton was soft, fall of the bone in a pepperyfry spice mix. Very well executed dishes. Yoghurt needed to quell the rapid heat build-up from these dishes. Punjabi which meets Malaysian standard, for...
