Place is dirty, especially on the table edges, you get the kind of stickiness feeling when you touch, worse is some part of the table will leave a stain on your hand, the large bench also feels sticky. We saw small cockroach on our table, i had to kill it with the tissue paper they have available on each table. Minus one star because of this, some will minus more but i appreciate the nice food they have just not the cleanliness.
However I would say the concept of bbq indoor without smoke is well done at this place, you would not end up with smell on your clothe once u exit the place unlike those korean bbq where no matter how good the suction is you still end up with smell especially on hair.
Food wise is a bit on the pricey side, for a 2 person dinner, our bill was rm118 or around there. Because for meat the cheapest skewers is rm3. they have variety like chicken, pork, beef, lamb and prawn, vegetables such as lady finger, mushroom and others are available as well. Its mostly season your own style cooking method, they have herbs, salt, pepper, cintan manis&putih (one of the 5 spices) in bottle on each table, the waiter will help you season it unless you tell them you want to dIY. i like this style, it is something different than those marinated bbq type (example bulgogi)
I would advise to avoid pork skewer, it is very tough to chew after bbq, maybe the quality of the pork is not great and you tend to believe that pork needs to be cook thoroughly to make sure it is well cooked vs how u would cook a beef. I would also avoid the pork belly as well it is not as great as how we would expect, it is grill on a metal mesh, we end up taking our used skewer skew those pork belly onto it and let it rotate and cook this way it cook evenly but i dont know why they want to cook this differently. Then the taste of the pork belly is marinated i dont find the taste appealing to me, personally i like sichuan style food, but the marinate for the pork belly just doesnt hit my taste bud (and it was their recommendation dish). They say brinjal is one of the best however i feel that the sauce is not salty enough, the way to eat it is to mash the whole brinjal (just the flesh not the skin) as how they teach me. After they done that, i just add in some more salt for better taste if not it really is very blend and only taste spicy.
Chicken wing is a skewer for 2 wing without the drumlet and the tip part, so its the two bone part x2 so u can share it for 2 person equally. I didnt know and i didnt ask but now you know. Avoid the super spicy chicken wing because it is really super spicy chicken wing, i can eat spicy myself but i got to say the moment i was halfway eating through i was sweating like no body business... I had to leave the other wing for the end of my meal else i think it will mess up my appetite for the remaining of it.
The lamb and beef really is the star of the meal, i believe chicken is too (i didnt order chicken skewer but only wing) because i believe these kinds of meat can retain the juiciness of the meat and not dry out. Fun to play with especially u can season your own way but this also tells you why the place can be dirty as spices are been toss onto the bbq pit like nobody business. Is this your standard of service to customers? They help us bbq and will poke the burning charcoal so hard while our ordered food was there which make burning charcoal ash flying around and stick on our food. It's not the correct way. They took lazy and easy way. They should remove our food away and poke on burning charcoal which will make more heat. Then place back our food continue bbq. Excuse me, I do mind it.
