April 2024 Finally picked up enough courage to try (a new) Uncle Robert CKT. It’s good with fresh lard served. A bit dry but wok hei is solid.
June 2020. With a heavy heart and sad news, I would like to inform that Moody Uncle Char Kuey Teow has retired. The spot now has been taken over by the substandard franchised Robert CKT. My life is incomplete now. The rating of this place is now reduced by one star to three stars. May we have a moment of silence as you read this. Please.
May 2020 Admit Covid19, uncle is now open back for business as the law allows. Getting my CKT fix. Been too long. Been too long. :(
Feb 2020 At the rate I am reviewing this place, I am surprised I have not been given at least a free drink here. Anyhow, here for uncle Moody CKT and the pork noodle which is very decent. Of course nothing beats uncle moody. Up-rating this joint by a star, because this is really a treasure trove of food in PJ.
Jan 2020 Uncle today alone. I behaved and waited for my turn until he sled me why I want. He is very strict with lines and never ever cut lines or he will not take your order. Whether you pack or eat in, You line up with uncle!
Dec 2019 Here again! Uncle CKT never disappoint; always spot on. Tried the pork noodle from Stall 1, not bad!
Nov 2019 Uncle forgot to reserve for me his CKT. So I ended up with Kai see Hor fun and Pan mee. The chicken rice is good too!
September 2019 Awesome. To say the least and simply.
July 2019 Uncle finally have a numbering system and a helper. Still as moody (yay) as someone cut my queue and he gave that someone a queueing lesson, and told his staff to make sure “follow the line”. Thank you uncle, for this even if your CKT below par today, I support you for the correct way to handle queue!
Bonus : he delivered my noodle today! I am starstrucked! Twice in July. Never disappointing from Uncle!
By the way, the curry laksa also pretty awesome. Good stuff too!
August 2018 This place never get old. The Uncle whip a kick ass CKT. He now has a helper. And his temper controlled. But his CKT taste so much better now that he serves with a smile.
2016 June Only reason why I am here is to be scolded by the moody char kuey teow uncle that whip up an awesome creamy delicious Char Kuey Teow. Be prepared to wait as he takes his time cooking small batches to ensure consistency in his wok-fried goodness.
Legend has it said the moodier he is... The better your char Kuey Teow will be. Mine was...

There are about a dozen stalls here offering a range of hawker fare. Yong tau foo, Robert's char koay teow, Porking Mad nasi lemak, popiah, kai see hor fun, prawn mee and pork noodle are some of the more popular stalls here.
I have, over two visits, tried the kai see hor fun and Porking Mad nasi lemak.
Porking Mad nasi lemak was good. So good that I ate it on two consecutive weekends. My review appears in Porking Mad's dedicated Google Maps page.
As such, this review will only focus on kai see hor fun (kshf).
The kshf (RM8) here has all the appearance of a bowl of superb kshf - tantalizing broth that's drizzled with enticing prawn oil which is a must for all good kshf.
Unfortunately, looks can be deceiving. I was disappointed by the good-looking broth which didn't taste equally good - lacked umami and depth.
Over the years, I've come to the conclusion that stalls that sell a myriad of noodles mostly will end up like the proverbial Jack of all trades, master of none. Simply because they don't use dedicated broth but rather one broth for all. And so it is with this stall that sells both kshf and prawn mee. These two types of noodles call for two entirely different but distinct broth.
Iced coffee was inconsistent. Mediocre on my first visit but good on the second.
Toilet Score: Usual kopitiam standard.
PS: I started actively doing Google Maps reviews in September 2024. If you find my review useful, do like and share it. And do follow me to see my other reviews and photographs. Retiree reviewer appreciates whatever motivation I can receive to spur...

original of the roberts. like the dread pirate you never see his face, so that is contested mythology. what isn't disputed is char kuey teow here is the best.
you're made to wait though. then it arrives at table preceded by whiff of peanut. prawns are not quite penang-quality bountiful, but better than most. best option would be with duck egg, but those run out fast.
porking nasi lemak is insanely good. nasi lemak and sambal are formidable on their own, but it's oink that differentiates and elevates.
hakka and kolo mee are both good. because what's plated is primo. example being fish flakes on top for umami boost.
ditto kaisi horfun. prawns here are of sea monster size, at least by local lubber standard. plus chicken is tasty, tender and toothsome. and nga choi fresh and crunchy.
easy oink adds to depth of lineup. solid good bowl of heart, soul and assorted parts. and surprisingly light given substantive oink payload.
baked goodies at front is perhaps light bat here. mini-pizza, in particular with egg on top, looks promising, but is unfairly handicapped served cold. would otherwise be nice intermezzo for...
