This is to show how terrible service the local elderly service crews
We reserve the table for 2 specifically for dim sum on the phone; Arrived and ordered dim sum only after 15mins the male waiter came to explain need to wait as only 1 chef on duty today… Another 10min the lady waiter come and told that the xiao long bao is not available, and ask if i need to replace with any other dim sum… The lady tried to explain quite loud and rude again the waits due to there only 1 chef on duty… Every dim sum is like crafted upon order and serving on the table every now and then till the last dim sum served is 50min… there are only total of 5 tables in the restaurant… On the phone, before seating, before order, at least 3x times the staff could have explain they only have 1 chef able to prepare dim sum… why after ordered and 15mins then only come to confront? And it is Saturday, people have plans… And the lady waiter that loud and keep raising voices your restaurant only has 1 chef like a proud matter?? Does this restaurant in the hotel have any professional training on how to handle any situation?
The menu looks worn out, patches with tapes… The food is good with 30% off, AC is chilly, tea refill crew...
Read moreIt quite amazes me that a restaurant of this quality could be this empty on a Friday night.
Food, service and atmosphere are all excellent. As someone who has high standards for sweet and sour pork and fried rice, I can safely say they do amazing versions of them.
Sweet and sour pork has a good balance of (duh) sweet and sour, and the texture of the pork itself is spot on - crispy on the outside and good chewy mouthfeel on the inside. Not always the easiest thing to achieve with a deep fried dish doused in sauce.
The ikan bilis fried rice is a demonstration of how delicious a fried rice can be with basic ingredients but great technique (and presumably an industrial burner in the kitchen). Fluffy, separate grains of rice with a good wok hei / smokiness, with little pops of crispy umami scattered through, in the form of the ikan bilis. Green beans and big, fresh chunks of prawn also offer a great variety to each bite.
The rest of the dishes are definitely up to standard as well for a quality Chinese restaurant.
I wish more people would come here - they’re not getting the recognition they deserve...
Read moreI called to make lunch reservations. The restaurant asked me if i wanted the all you can eat dim sum or not. I said we haven't decided yet, we may want to try other items on their menu.
Then was told that only the Dim Sum is halal. But the other menu is not - because they SERVE PORK. This was shocking as we have eaten ordered dim sum from this restaurant before when staying at the hotel. We have always been told that the restaurant is pork-free.
Note to the hotel management - this is a very serious concern:
The restaurant is really pork-free, but the restaurant employee simply said they serve pork and only dim sum menu is halal, just to make us sign up for the all you can eat dim sum.
The restaurant actually does serve pork as the employee mentioned but has been wrongly advertised it...
