Being the first recreational lake gardens in the city of Petaling Jaya, Taman Jaya Park has crowd of visitors everyday who flock in to spend a few hours jogging or exercising or to simply catch up with friends or sit back and have a good time. The plants and lawn is well kept but unfortunately the large pond which is the central feature of the park, smells bad ; often you will see dead fish floating and rotting. It is however popular with anglers and I think the common type of fish that they manage to hook is the Ikan Sepat. The park has recently upgraded; new plants especially a bamboo grove has been planted. The walking path has been widened and repaired especially some sections beside the pond which had collapsed. There is also a nice winding cycling paved path for those who want to practise their cycling. A large concrete stage has been built jutting into the pond - this is popular especially early in the morning for those who practice Chi Gong and Yoga. The children's playground is well maintained and all the equipment is new and safe. A nice place for families to visit even with very young children. The Park is ideal for Jog, Run, Zumba, Yoga, Workout, Picnic, Chill, Kid's playground. It can be best place for health conscious people. Good for family picnic. Very enjoyable and easy to get access to from the LRT station. There are 2 entry points by car and both have limited car parks. Facility for playing skateboard or rollerblade also provided here. Apart of that, people can spend time by visiting PJ Museum that located in this area. The playgrounds are well maintained. The area around the lake is suitable for family and individual seeking a fine area to exercise. Below are my rating points: 1) Nearby Park: 7/10 (Amcorp Mall, A&W Fast Food, Dataran PJ & LRT Taman Jaya) 2) Park Security: 5/10 (No security guards around. Not recommended to go during night time) 3) Parking: 4/10 (Not much public parking space) 4) Convenience: 8/10 (Nearby LRT & Amcorp Mall which has Supermarket, Convenience Stores & Restaurants) 5) Cleanliness: 7/10 (Clean & Well Maintained Environment) 6) Crowd: 8/10 (Not crowded except on weekends due to Flea Market at Amcorp Mall) Taman Jaya Park is a great neighborhood park that has been around for ages. Very beautiful scenery, its a big park that one can enjoy jogging and spending time with the family, for no charge at all. Clean and well-kept. Take a walk/jog around the lake, or on Sunday mornings, join in the community aerobics session conducted by instructors that held at the park area from time to time. The park also provides delightful views of the surrounding greenery and the Taman Jaya Lake, where fishing is possible with permit. The night scenery is pretty nice especially by the lakeside. Just that without security guards around, I dont recommend visiting this place at night alone.

The first time has been here. Sure will have more chances to be here—a GREAT GREAT place for jogging, cycling, Zumba, roller skating and outdoor gym. Many kids play at the playground—ample space for parking lots. Many families were picnic at here. Some fishing lovers also will fish at the lake there—a nice place to play football also. There also got Kios Ilmu. You may borrow three books each time. You may donate your books there also. Unfortunately, the book store is not well managed. Got Pusat Kitar Semula as well. You may send the recycled items here. Here got a small museum there. But too bad it was closed during Chinese New Year. May pay a visit next round.

A decent sized park in PJ at the border of Kuala Lumpur. There are good amount of slides and swings available for children to enjoy but not very well maintained or cleaned thoroughly. Specially the floor is full of Algae which makes it slippery, so both adults and kids have to be careful. However, the park is quite big in size and have lot of space to walk, run, cycle, do picnic with family and friends. Ambience is good and peaceful. Washroom facility is free and there are couple local restaurants to grab some snacks, drinks and food. Considering there is no entrance fee, it is worth visiting and is suitable for all ages.

Running at this park is definitely better than running on a treadmill because here the air is fresh and it’s very healthy for your mind because the scenery of the lake and the trees is very calming. Only drawback I noticed is . The playground is clean and the PJ Museum is informative. But I noticed two things: after 6PM you don't have access to toilets and not a place that is convenient to go to and also the lake is lined with an unattractive muddy shade of brown or green. when it is raining the lake is smelly. Moreover its place for jogging and just letting the kids run around.
