New restaurant in Ara. Good ambience. Clean and modern design. Equipped with aircond and great place for lunch during a scotching hot day. Service was good but I find the menu was a little too long. Had the assam pedas tilapia, gula melacca vinegar pork, wat tan fried rice, signature minced meat tofu rice. The assam pedas looked light but the flavour was punchy enough to prove me wrong. Very appetizing and the gravy was finished to the last drop. The only downside was the tilapia fish used had a little muddy taste. The gula melacca vinegar was fantastic. Flavourful and the pork knuckles was cooked to perfection. The skin and fat would melt in the mouth and yet the meat remained tender. Perfecto. The wat tan fried rice has a very good wok flavour. The gravy smelt and tasted good. The fried rice was filled with wok flavour. The tofu was soft and tasted good. The gravy was appetizing enough to pair with rice. A simple yet comfort choice for a great meal. The new blue pea nasi lemak selections were great too. The asam prawn and chicken masah merah tasted fantastic, especially the gravy - rich and tasty. A place great for family or group meet up. Most importantly the pricing was reasonable for the quality of the dishes served.

The fact that this restaurant got a 4-star kinda puzzled me, maybe I ordered the wrong food? Ordered their Lala Soup Bihun and Wat Tan Hor, and zzzz~ their Lala Soup Bihun, I mean, isn’t it something fairly easy to make? How do u make it so bad -walaooo.. 🥲🥲 the noodles used had a weird stale taste, and most of the lala shells are shattered into small pieces and scattered around the bowl of noodles, I mean brooooo, I just wanna eat lala le, not playing puzzle 🧩 Sigh.. although my husband said his Wat Tan Hor tasted okay la, so I guess maybe this place is more expert in 大炒 style? Will Kasi 2nd chance la~ 🥲

Almost everything was pretty good in general. One of my orders, a chicken chop rice, had a ridiculously small chicken and I say this with no exaggeration. I have never been served a chicken chop dish with this portion size. The whole chicken breast was essentially smaller than the size of my palm and with no thickness. Furthermore, the chicken had a small hint of bitterness. I normally do not like to rant or critique dishes but this is just one of those rare encounters. Every other dish was good.

Their western food like spaghetti is very Chinese style. Overall food is quite ok. They decorated the place with Christmas deco and there’s a toy shelf that children can play some toys before the food comes. I thought they are pretty thoughtful. However, once the food arrived, we were attacked by 5-6 flies! Was quite horrible experience. After that the waitress came with a fly catcher to kill a few flies. But there’s still more. We ended up eating really fast and wanted to leave the place ASAP. After payment was made, we left. 10 mins later received a call from the restaurant complained that they didn’t receive our touch n go payment! I’m not sure why, we showed them the payment proof and the receipt was printed for us as well. And this happened. I feel they should have a better system and not simply accuse the customer before checking thoroughly. Bad experience, not gonna return to this...

I found this place when I started ordering GrabFood from them. I repeated order so many times I decided to come to the actual store to check it out since it’s nearby.

They have waaaay more options in store. I have tried their fried rice, all their fish + rice dish, Japanese tofu minced pork, bittergourd pork, spring onion ginger pork, vinegar pork, Singapore noodle and still have more to try. So far everything I tried is good! I think generally 8/10.

I really really like this restaurant and hope they keep up with this quality, kudos to the chef! You not only can taste the wok hei, you can even hear it from the kitchen 😂

Hope this boss pay his chef...
