With so many branches all over the Klang Valley, it's really quite amazing how Jin Xuan has managed to maintain the same quality, taste and service throughout it's entire network.
This outlet is about 1km away from the other outlet at Damansara Utama, or now known as Damansara Uptown. easiest way to find this place is to lookout for Maybank which is right next door to it.
Housed in 3 shoplots, it's quite a large indoor dining area. During weekends and public holidays, the dining almost doubles up in size as they also occupy the sidewalk and sidelane as well.
Their menu is not extensively large, and I've not seen any promotions featuring new dishes ever served through the years I've been patronising the outlet. It's been the same menu all this while, and I guess it's the old saying about not breaking anything that's working, that applies here.
The har gow (prawn dumplings), siew mai (pork dumplings), char siew bao and wu kok are all superb here. Also notable are the marmite spare ribs as well. With the exception of the deep fried items, all steamed items are made to order and will take around 10 - 15 minutes before they arrive at your table, piping hot and fresh.
You can't go wrong with Jin Xuan, and if there are reviewers here who complain about the queues or crowds, it's probably because they all went on weekends. Try going for dinner or even an early supper for a change, they all close at...
Read moreI tried Restaurant Jin Xuan because Eater named it one of KL’s 38 essential restaurants and even though it was pretty good, it wasn’t anything special or close to the best dim sum in KL, so I don’t know how it got on the list, but it’s definitely one of the cheapest dim sum spots I’ve been to:
Classic Siew Mai (RM6.5) where it is pork wrapped in wonton and we dipped it in chili sauce to enhance the juicy flavor of the pork. It was juicy, tender and tasty.
Shrimp & leek dumplings (RM6.5). I like how the wonton was folded so prettily, it is such a simple and delicious comforting dish.
The steamed spare ribs (RM6.5). It is my favorite dish and with the black beans on top it just tastes so good together pork was right amount of chewy
Fried yam pastry (RM7). I like how it was presented where we could see the filling is filled to the brim. It was crispy, soft and creamy.
The rice dish we got was Lo Mai Kai (RM7) where it had chicken, Chinese sausage and shiitake mushrooms. It is such a homey and classic dish.
Salted Shrimp Scallops (RM18) - could have been crispier Of course ended the meal with a 6.50 golden bun - filled with hot salted egg custard - a must order
Overall, the food was not bad especially for the price so if youre craving dim sum and this is nearby then why not but I’ve definitely tasted better dim sums with better...
Read moreIt used to be an every weekend/Sundays thing for my friend & I. Since we both enjoy good dim-sum and great company. We will head over there on our own and meet there or sometimes we will go in one car, given the fact it's hard to find a parking spot, unless we park in Atria Mall & walk over. By the way, it's usually very crowded, it will be a long Que with given number for everyone that's under waiting list.
Committed to good food and excellent service, Jin Xuan offers diners a wide variety of good tasty dim sum in a comfortable air-conditioned environment, at reasonable prices. The dim sum are prepared in their own factory with strict quality control to ensure that the taste is consistent at all their branches.
The clean, no-frills dining area is furnished with marble topped kopitiam tables and wooden chairs; nothing to distract attention from the food.
Jin Xuan is especially proud of its Home-made Siu Mai and Home-made BBQ Pork Buns. Some other specialties are HarGaw, Steamed Fish Balls and Golden Buns. Their ingredients & dishes are fresh, portion sizes are pretty generous. Price is reasonable. I personally love their...
