We had our yearly family Christmas gathering here at Lago, and it was magical. Parking was easy, and as we stepped into the restaurant, we were transported to a different world thanks to the tasteful decor that created an intimate ambience for our family gathering. Walking outside to the lakeside it almost seemed like we had left the country with the deck-side seating by the lake, all shaded thankfully from the bright afternoon sun, which was the only reminder that we were still in Malaysia. We were spoilt for choice with the menu, and shared several dishes among us for appetisers, including the paella and squid, soups and salad. Hats off to the barista for the delicious and refreshing drinks. Mine in particular, the Fresa mocktail with berries, was exactly what I needed on such a sunny day, but my brother's sea salt cloud matcha got the attention of the whole table for its unique and delicious flavour. The mains were beautifully plated and tasted exquisite, proof that good food is not just about how well it is cooked but how well it is presented. For the entree, once again it was difficult choosing, but I got the benefit of being able to sample everyone else's mains (in return for some of my striploin steak), and while I think I chose the best dish on the menu, there is no doubt in my mind that both the 'Pollo Tomate con Burrata' and the honey glazed salmon served with caviar on crème fraîche would satisfy even the pickiest eaters. The pictures below are courtesy of our family photographer, my sister, who insisted on making everyone wait before we could dig in, because of how pretty the plating was! Looking at the shots now, I remember that the tomato's used for the pollo had an exceptional flavour, and will have to try a serving all for myself next time. For dessert we ordered the churros and three slices of cake for the table, the apple crumble, chocolate praline and the burned cheesecake. I wish I could tell you in detail just how fantastic each of these tasted, but it would take a whole other review, so all I will say is that even after all that, we ordered one more slice of chocolate praline to take home for later because it was too good to let it go. Overall, it was a lovely experience and a truly enjoyable meal. Thanks Lago for making it a memorable Christmas get together, looking forward to...

The only thing I’m not deny is the food quality, it taste good, quality.
The service from your staff is worst than mamak honestly.
No staff entertaining me while I and my friend was standing right in front of the door. Order SOP is broken. The waiter with necklace came to my table ORDERED WITHOUT WRITE DOWN in any paper and DID NOT DOUBLE CONFIRM our order, plus his style is always rushing walking and skip eyes contact with customers. Ordered 2 glass of water, I and my friend were waiting 30 mins without drink serve first, until I waved and asked other staff was standing in the corner. You know why, because order SOP is not followed, so no one inside knows what’s our order to be served. Food arrived, it’s wrong order. The same guy took my order came back to me with his menu in hands to confront me that ‘you ordered this one (he pointed to the picture at the same time). I said No, I ordered the octopus meal (forgot what’s the real name in their menu). But I and my friend truly discussed and ordered the octopus meal. Waiter said ‘Okok, so now you want this octopus meal, I can make it for you’
Woahhhh, what kind of response is that? It’s shocked me with this style of service in this kind of environment which is only in mamak or road side selling.
First and last come here. Out there still have many other restaurants with similar food like this, similar price and good service from waiter/waitress. Please don’t spend your hard earning here if you want to deal with this kind of disappointed feeling in Lago...
Read moreThe food portion for it's price was good, not overcharged, but can be better in terms of quality, just in my opinion. I didn't enjoy the food mostly everything else was good, the pizza was St. Louis style thin and crunchy crust with too many slightly loose toppings, when I think of pizza I usually prefer bit more neater and easily segmented pizza, also cheese was thready which again isn't my preference I prefer cheese embedded in crust and small cut pieces of it, but again that's just my preference, however the concern outside preference is only having a bit more neater version of pizza. Everything else in the menu was good
Great service, every staff member was attentive and they made sure to have staff roaming around for ease in calling one for changes and additions
Time keeping was good, except for pizza (which took around 15 mins ish) everything else including appraisers, drinks, and desserts were on time
Regarding the atmosphere, the ambience was good, music wasn't too loud which was good, seats could be not wooden I believe although indoor dining is perfectly good and cushioned; it was good to see no kids shouting, however unmannered business group meeting was annoying, with usual clapping and shouting, however it's just the people being unmannered nothing on the restaurant, it's just something I feel restaurants can probably ban having children and business groups who shout...
