PJ The Grand Sofo — Hotel in Petaling Jaya

We stayed one night here on September 11. Our unit is B-07-13A. Self check-in instructions were clear and easy to follow, could get the keys from the mailbox and proceed to parking lot. The parking lot is located at floor 4A, so took a while to reach, need to spin a few rounds.

The instructions for getting to the correct lift lobby were very clear too, so we could enter the unit with no difficulty at all. The unit is very clean and well-equipped. Shampoo and shower gel are provided, there is ample supply of toilet paper, and the towels are good. Other amenities such as iron, ironing board, hanging rack, washing machine, and basic kitchen appliances are available too. We did not use most of these items, so unable to comment whether everything works well or not.

The water pressure in the shower is good, and the bed is comfortable enough. Netflix is available on the TV it seems, but we didn't really have time to watch. We were there for only about 10 hours, mainly needed a place to sleep and shower, and it served that purpose well. The balcony overlooks a highway and Paradigm Mall.

We privately shared with the homestay management some suggestions for improvement, such as touching up the paint on the front door, providing more hanging options in the bathroom, installing the toiletries in the shower area, and having a full-length mirror somewhere in the room. But these are just minor issues, overall it was an great stay and the price reasonable.

Highly recommended if you are looking for a place to stay around Kelana Jaya, and travel by Grab or private...

The lift service is quite bad. Owner only give access for certain level of lifts which was very troublesome for us, incase of any emergency , it will be very very hassle. We need to walk up down several times to figure out the level which we can access. Owner need to improve to give full access at all levels, because we can’t access from car park. Very troublesome. And the neighbours are quite noisy even in early morning , especially grill gate sounds. Room condition overall ok. But tv setting quite troublesome, need to contact owner every time to check on this especially to connect to Netflix. Amazon prime you need to sign in on own. Screen sharing quite troublesome and I guess there is time off. Because owner uses a separate app for that. Not user friendly. If any wants to use tv for screen sharing for work/study purpose, it will be very very troublesome. The view from balcony was so cool especially...

Had a wedding to attend in this area and decided to give an Airbnb-type home a try, instead of booking my usual hotels. There was a bit of a hiccup during check in as the room was not ready but the staff did the best he could to get me the room as soon as possible.
