Lotus Family Restaurant: A Delightful Banana Leaf Breakfast Experience
As a loyal customer of Lotus Family Restaurant, I have had the pleasure of indulging in their delicious breakfast offerings on numerous occasions. This charming establishment, known for its banana leaf dining experience, has consistently impressed me with its diverse menu options and attentive service.
One of the highlights of my visits to Lotus Family Restaurant is their flavorful masala thosai. The thin and crispy rice and lentil pancake is generously filled with a tantalizing blend of spiced potatoes and onions. The combination of aromatic spices and the soft texture of the thosai creates a burst of flavors with every bite. It never fails to satisfy my craving for a hearty and authentic South Indian breakfast.
In addition to the masala thosai, Lotus Family Restaurant also offers other breakfast delights such as chapati. The freshly made flatbread, cooked to perfection, is soft and slightly chewy. It pairs exceptionally well with a variety of curries and chutneys that are served alongside. The simplicity of the dish allows the flavors to shine through, making it a comforting and satisfying choice.
To complement these delectable breakfast dishes, Lotus Family Restaurant serves a range of refreshing beverages, including their famous mango lassi. The thick and creamy yogurt-based drink is infused with the sweet and tangy essence of ripe mangoes. With each sip, I am transported to a tropical paradise, savoring the rich flavors and smooth texture. It serves as the perfect accompaniment to any breakfast choice, providing a refreshing contrast to the spicier elements of the meal.
The service at Lotus Family Restaurant is truly commendable. The staff members are friendly, attentive, and always ready to assist with any requests or inquiries. Their warm hospitality creates a welcoming and comfortable dining atmosphere, making each visit a pleasant experience.
While I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Lotus Family Restaurant, there is one minor aspect I wish could be improved—the masala tea. Though it is a flavorful and fragrant beverage, I personally prefer a stronger kick of spices in my cup. However, this is merely a matter of personal preference, as the masala tea still remains a satisfying choice for those seeking a warm and comforting drink.
In conclusion, Lotus Family Restaurant is a gem when it comes to breakfast dining experiences. From the flavorful masala thosai to the delightful chapati and the refreshing mango lassi, the menu offers a wide variety of choices to suit every palate. The attentive service provided by the staff adds an extra touch of warmth to the overall experience. While the masala tea could use a bit more spice, it does not overshadow the overall excellence of this establishment. I highly recommend Lotus Family Restaurant for anyone in search of a delightful and authentic banana...
Read moreI have been coming here on and off for many years and mostly due to my relatives preferred convenient joint. Me i avoided this if I can as the waiter either ignore u or argue regarding the order i placed when I clearly said no sugar in my drinks which for some particular reason they do not wish to comply. While my previous comments of the waiters have been looked into somewhat thanks to the manager/owner monitoring them much more stringently , i read a few comment in this section highlighting the same issue of the staff ignoring the customers.
While u are waiting for ur food please observe a waiter ( about 5ft 2-3, mid forties, indo/nepal? wearing mask, has been working here for many years) who has perfected the art of ignoring customer. He just walks around the floor aimlessly looking at the floor avoiding eye contact when there is practically very few new customers he needs to attend to. u can arrive in front of him practically and may think he will take the order, but no. This is such a marvel and novelty dont u think. Having a restaurant were they will not take your order or serve u. Beats the purpose of operating any business u say, hell no, come here and watch to see this absurdity.
Coming in second is another chap who is now mastering the art of ignoring customer and avoid eye contact hence also orders, u say it is easy to be waiter , just take the order, wait a few minutes and deliver the food from the kitchen counter, hell no, why should i do this is the the prevailing attitude. U cant miss this chap, middle sized, even if u wave at him , he will look at u and walk away, pretending not to see in broad daylight or if u see a person with his head at 45 degree from ur sitting position avoiding u by looking elsewhere while doing a slow walk to nowhere then u have met our good friend, cheers dining here and good luck in getting ur food. When the manager/owner is on the floor recently, services are mostly very good, when he is away then very very...
Read moreAn institution for Indian food in PJ. This humble restaurant has grown into a supermarket, a food store and more, while still maintaining the original restaurant that started it all many years ago.
Parking is always an issue here, but fret not, the two side roads have parking bays available as well, if you're lucky.
The food here encompasses the gamut of South Indisn cuisine, with it's dizzying array of curries, meats and also sweet desserts and cookies as well. I've always maintained that if you see older folks eating at a restaurant by themselves or with their husband or wives without their kids, the place is probably good, as older folk have more experienced taste buds.
Prices here have always been very reasonable, and you can drop in and have a small snack or even a full meal, with services that truly makes you dizzy as the waiters zoom around the restaurant.
There is a private room in the restaurant as well which is great for private functions up to about 20 to 30 persons.
When you're there, one of the things I've always loved to do is look at the kitchen and the waiters crowding around the glass window, shouting orders to the cooks and the cooks responding as well. Seems chaotic, but it's all in the name of fast and efficient service.
A worthwhile place to visit if you've never been before. And if you have, it's always good to know that Lotus will still be...
