Straight to the point - Been here twice in a row now because I can't stress enough how good their pastries are! Their pastries are above average. However, do come early because it 👏🏼 gets 👏🏼 sold 👏🏼 out 👏🏼 quite fast and you wonder why! I give their pastries 5 stars!
Their salt beef sandwich- yes! Order that. It is tasty. Super tasty! The combination of the relish and pickles -tasty! I thought the price of RM29 is a bit steep but it is tasty! Perhaps it'd be nice to up the volume of fries cos it does look a bit too little, too sad. Also wish their plates that come with the sandwich would be a bit bigger cos the fries keep falling off as I cut into my sandwich. But my word, it is tasty!
Teriyaki chicken bagel- this is just ok. Maybe 5/10
Tiramisu- delicious and light. Love the coffee jelly element to it. Do I wish it is with alcohol? Yes. That would be a 10/10 but I'm giving this 8/10 still decent!
Considered quite a nice eating establishment in PJ. I do notice the flow of things isn't as smooth but I can see they have taken negative feedbacks in terms of service and worked on them cos when I've been there twice, we've been attended to nicely by the ladyboss. I can understand why ordering can be confusing but hey, good thing for Google reviews right? You learn from the rest :) Just Q up, pick your pastries and make payment. You can order their hot food and drinks at the counter as you pay!
I love their bread displays over the windows and counter. It makes the place more inviting. But in terms of the placement of tables and seating, I get the vision but it does seem a bit impractical considering you may have to zig zag or go a big round to get to your table because of long benches or plant pots in the way. Also, I felt that the tables are too short and chairs are too high so eating and sitting can get quite uncomfortable cos you may have to hunch.
Also, their coffee is good. Drink their coffee. I'm not a coffee person but my coffee snob friend said their dirty latte is very good.
I would come back to try more pastries, hopefully pick up a nice loaf of sourdough and try their fried chicken croger!
Till next...
Read moreLeft this place with full of anger. When my wife went in, the male receptionist (Mika) told her to wait outside first. My wife asked him whether we had to leave our contact number for the queue number, he repeated again “wait outside first” for few times (He looked “slammed” already). After a few minutes, he came out and took her number at the end but we didnt receive any call.
After awhile I went in to take a look at the environment, but then I saw couple with a kid came after us and got seated directly. I asked the Mika guy whether they just came and he answered yes. I then asked him what about us? He looked confused and went outside to check again. His face was totally saying “ohh f… I forgot about them”. He didnt even apologize. He then came out with an idea which was asking us to share table with another customer, and he’s got the audacity to say “Ohh actually I already reserved the table for you”. Ok We were fine with that. Just when he thought he got the way out but then his carelessness and incapability got him into another issue. That seat he offered was actually taken by another customer already. He then told us to share with them. Which means there would be 3 different groups of people at a 6-8 pax table. He verbally did offer us to change table if there’s availability, but his body language only showed insincerity right from the start.
We left without having anything. Based on the look of the pastries, they looked pretty good. It could have been perhaps a 4-star review but unfortunately the service was just as bad as...
Read moreHaving spent most of my life in PJ, Tmn Megah holds a special place in my heart. I still remember my mom taking me to the wet markets in the mornings before they transformed the area into Ming Tien food court, now replaced by a towering mall-apartment. So, stumbling upon this corner-lot bakery-cafe, was quite a surprise.
I wasn’t sure what the hype was about, but judging by the weekend crowd, it’s clear they’ve made a name for themselves. The space had a cosy, lively buzz, complemented by a vibrant interior and, honestly, one of the best playlists I’ve heard in a while!
Since it was nearly full-house, we ended up sharing a communal table. We originally came for a more substantial lunch and placed our orders at the counter, but classic case of greed, we couldn’t resist getting some pastries as appetisers.
My personal favourite was this iteration of a PBJ sourdough sandwich. I’m not one to fuss over presentation, but the flavours absolutely blew me away, especially the almond butter that was made in-house. This buttermilk chicken croger (croissant-burger??) recommended by their staff was really unique and voted yummiest.
Service was a little slow, and the acoustics made it quite noisy, but that’s to be expected with a packed house. I noticed some mixed reviews online, but F&B is always subjective. Personally, the food was good, space is nice, we all had a great time - would definitely recommend it! Just come prepared for a crowd, or if you prefer a quieter experience, visit...
