Nasi Ayam Hailam PJ New Town — Restaurant in Petaling Jaya

Rice is fragrant, one of the better ones around. Chili is also hot, which I like. However, the chicken is only so-so. The soya sauce chicken was a bit tough and the roast chicken was pretty standard (and not a real roast either). The white chicken is kampung chicken.

But the hygiene and cleanliness is problematic — the door to the kitchen is covered in oily smudges, meaning the staff do not wash their hands as they exit or enter (I saw multiple staff exit and enter and never saw them wash their hands). I also saw that there is not a good separation of cooked and raw foods in the kitchen. There were flies on the tables as well — an indication that they were not clean. It is a bit sad to see a relatively new establishment fall into decay so early.

Service is also not coordinated, with the rice arriving much, much earlier than the chicken, with the meat arriving only once the rice had cooled...

Honest review: Food - One of the most tastiest mee curry I've tried. It might be in the spicy 🔥 side for some but I considered it to be balance. Plus point to their sambal. The portion is worth on its price. The nasi ayam are tasty, me and my kids love it. The serving portion is acceptable for its price.

Service is good, waiters are attentive to special requests like less sugar in drinks. Cashier and waiters are friendly.

Parking space would be more than enough, I guess becase we arrived late in the afternoon around 5pm. Parked near Bank Islam. Noon time or rush hour might be a parking challenge.

The restaurant quite clean and tidy. The foods - hmm.. so-so. In my personal opinions, I like it more chicken rice shop. The portion is good, but the taste, not for me. The chilli was too hot maybe put too many cili padi, and bland. The mee, kuey teow also tasted bland. Mee hokien rasa mee with kuah kicap. Kuey teow goreng also rasa kicap. Quite sad the taste. I cried when eating it. Taste wise I'd gv 2 stars. The price is quite expensive for that kind of taste and I have to wait quite long to get my foods. Will not come again. And I'll not recommend to my friends also. Overall experience not satisfy with the taste. Also, if really want to come, pls prepare cash or ewallet- shopee or tng. No credit...
