Labelle Bakehouse — Restaurant in Petaling Jaya

Located in PJ New Town, Labelle is decked with concrete grey interiors that bring out industrial inspired vibes. They have a variety of pastry and main menu selections, as well as some good coffee and non-coffee beverages! 🥪 better to go early to avoid peak hour queues.

Ordered: Roast Chicken Leg 🍗⭐️ (RM26) One of the cafe recommendations - succulent chicken served with brown peppery gravy, including firm yet soft veggies such as mashed potatoes, broccoli, carrot, and sweet corn. A hearty and balanced dish to go for! 😋

Spicy Carbonara Grilled Chicken 🍝⭐️ (RM26) Al dente spaghetti soaked up the spicy carbonara sauce pretty well - the spicy kick was so real! Not forgetting the nicely grilled chicken chop that's tender 👍

Yummy Bagel Breakfast 🥯 (RM25) Homemade chewy bagel topped with cream cheese plus other breakfast staples like chicken sausage, sautéed mushrooms, baked beans; pick either scramble eggs or sunny side up, and chicken ham or beef stripes. However, we wished that the tomatoes could have been riper 🍅

Honey Cheese Toast 🍯⭐️(RM6) Who knew that a toast like this would taste amazing? The honey and cheese layer somehow has a texture similar to custard, providing a pleasant sweetness to the toast 🤩

Mango Danish 🥭 (RM12) A refreshingly sweet fruit pastry; despite the slightly light cream, the taste wasn't bad at all! 🥰

Peach Strudel 🍑 (RM16.90) They do not skimp on the amount of peaches and cream! However the pastry lacked some flavour from the cream, resulting in an underwhelming taste.

Pistachio Croissant 🥐 (RM12) Cream was rich but personally found it too cloying 😅 nevertheless, it's a decadent treat to share with others!

Sweet Strawberry Cromboloni 🍓⭐️ (RM12) Strawberry filling had a yogurt-like taste and not extremely sweet. The crombolini is small in size, which makes it easier to eat too 🙌

Cutie Pavlova 🍰⭐️ (RM12.90) How adorable is this dessert? Its texture reminded us of a macaron, plus the blueberry cream and fresh fruits also helped to reduce the dryness 🫐

Yam Burnt Cheesecake 🍠 (RM13.90) If you're bored of normal burnt cheesecakes, you can give this a try! However we could barely taste the yam, which might have been overpowered by the cream cheese, though the texture was present.

Sunset 🌅⭐️ (RM13) Consisted of orange, guava, and jasmine tea with salted cream cold foam, crafting a harmonious contrast together. A stunning drink to indulge in for sure! 🤩

Hot Mocha ☕️⭐️ (RM14) Velvety and smooth!

💻 As for work convenience, the space is quite cramped and noisy which may not be a suitable place to work.

Unprofessional waiting staff, would have given a zero if possible. Walked into this cafe only to find one table available closest to the door, so I sat there to wait for a friend. One minute later a waiter came and asked me to move saying the table is booked. Upon questioning the booking system, he said the customers at the counter told him they wanted the table. How does this make sense - no "reserve" sign nor any bag/item to indicate table is taken. The counter is merely two steps away, and the customers saw me sitting but said nothing. I refused to move, in walked in second senior waiter and asked me to move. I told him fine provided he gets me a table, but alas that was not possible. What kind of service is this when a customer walks in and sees an empty table and gets comfortable, and then lo and behold, waiters asking me to leave because of a "word of mouth" booking. I left because I felt it is simply unworthy to spend my money here where staff do not have the basic decency on how to treat customers or know how to handle...

The Good:

1. The bread that comes with the mushroom soup tasted good.
2. Complimentary water provided to your table.
3. The croissant tasted amazing!

The Bad:

1. Waiter service: Menu QR wasn't loading, hence calling up the waiter then the waiter was super unprofessional, once we were told TWICE 2 menu items are unavailable, he suddenly disappeared, not entertaining us, we have to try again and this time the QR is working. Very irresponsible.
2. More than 3 items on the menu are unavailable, e.g. nasi lemak, honestly if you want to serve main meals do it properly or at least just say unavailable on the menu. (Instead of us asking, and your waiter going back and forth the kitchen)
3. Chicken was obviously frozen and sent to the microwave, texture was so tough and I couldn't even bite off properly and the gravy was so salty.

tldr, don't come here for main meals, I presume their pastries taste good but not their cooking. With this pricing, honestly its fair customers...
