Nature's Recipe is one of my favourite vegetarian restaurants in town and I've lost count of my visits. At the top of my list are the special porridge and curry laksa (made with coconut milk, no cow milk), and every meat eater I've brought here has enjoyed these dishes, and pretty much everything else. I happily recommend the rojak tofu puffs, fruit rojak, lotus leaf wrapped sticky rice, lor mai kai (sticky rice with mushroom and mock meat), nasi kunyit, fried turnip cake, wu kok (fried taro puff) and jade dumplings. For dessert, the tong yuin (rice balls filled with sesame paste) in a sweet gingery broth is a great eh to end a meal. I haven't been disappointed so far and look forward to trying everything on their menu!
FYI for vegans, I asked the manager if the yong taufu and shiumai contain eggs and she confirmed that they do. Same goes for their house made noodles, so opt for the soft noodles, meehoon or koay teow. She also confirmed that the green curry, like the curry laksa, is made only with coconut milk without any cow milk mixed in.
This is a place to bring meat eaters. In my experience they have been impressed that food can taste this good without the use of tortured animals and many have returned on their own. As with all places, they serve cold drinks with straws so please do ask...
Read moreTOTALLY DISAPPOINTED! Went at 5pm to get some take away for dinner this evening and we waited for almost an hour for our food. It was extremely frustrating as they were busy serving those who were dining in and the Grab deliveries waiting at their door way who were arriving after me ( from my point of view) I totally understand that every order needs to go out on time but please consider those having to sit and wait for an hour for their take away orders too. Also this wasn't the first time I was having to sit and wait for more than 30mins for my orders to arrive. I was about to suggest that they record order times (log on order sheet the exact time customer placed the order) maybe this would allow them to track the waiting times. Unfortunately, the lady boss who was present seemed unapproachable and was oblivious to what was happening in the restaurant. Clearly, they don't care as there was no apology for the long wait. I will not be rushing to get here...
Read moreAnother recommendation from my friend. This Cafe offers a good variety of Vegetarian Dim Sum, local foods, drinks and tea options.
For Dim Sum, i liked their Bean Sheet Veg Puffs (Drenched in thick bean sauce), Stir-Fried Radish Cake (Crispy) and Pan-Fried Vegetable Bao (Good fillings).
We had their Steam Dumplings too, but it did not work out for us as it was served to us cold (Asked them to reheat but they returned with warm dumplings, not hot… and we gave up)
For Local Food, i like their "Prawn" Noodles that came with rich and deep "Prawn" flavoured broth, complemented with flat ramen, mocked prawns and other ingredients.
Their Yong Tau Foo Curry Noodle is also one of their most ordered dish, but i personally feel that the curry can be improved with better chilli paste as it lacks punch.
Service Staffs are quite efficient but not attentive. Cafe is abit clamp and dim during the day, thus not really cosy or...
