Sometimes a missed opportunity is a blessing in disguise. I was supposed to have breakfast at Bok's Kito but mana tahu it was not opened on that fateful Sunday morning. Gelebah.. I quickly searched for alternative to have breakfast with a Malay friend and found Stesen Nasi Kerabu.
Honestly if you're observant enough, you'd notice that the logo is similar to Victoria's Station but selling nasi kerabuone word of advise - whether you're dining in or takeaway, you still have to queue to place order and the queue was never ending from the moment I placed my order until I finished my breakfast.
A worker was seen busy grilling chicken and beef outside and it could get smoky.
◾Nasi Kerabu with daging bakar + lemak bakar - the colour of rice looked fake, perhaps artificial colouring was used instead of authentic bluepea flower. However, overall flavours hit the spot with the ulam, belacan, kerisik kelapa and daging + lemak bakar for him. Portion was a bit big that he couldn't finish alone. ◾Nasi Kerabu with ayam bakar but sans the rice. Satisfying breakfast for me minus the guilt. ◾Solok Lada was available however the texture was slightly hard.

Read moreThe food, the atmosphere and service are the tip top of this restaurant. Tried lots of nasi kerabu in Klang Valley but this one is definitely my favourite (as this one really suit my Kelantanese taste bud). All of nasi kerabu outlets this one is special for me because of lemak bakar. The quantity of the protein also the biggest I ever had. Even the nasi kerabu in Kelantan didn't gave me this much. Once I brought like 25 people to eat here in weekend but the order is really smooth even tho there are like hundreds of people queuing. The price? It's a bit on expensive range like the one I always got (daging, lemak bakar, solok lada & telur masin) costed me RM23. Definitely not in affordable range. The parking? Sometimes it's really hard to get one because of the tons of shoplots around here. Oh, and many times I queue in weekday at 3pm and the queue is still long plus the food is stil were prepared frrsh from the kitchen....
Read moreVery nice Nasi Kerabu Ayam Bakar – RM9.50 per pack (before 6% charges). The Nasi Ayam Bakar tambah daging is RM16. A must-try is their lemak bakar – soft, juicy, and fragrant. Half of the salted egg costs RM2. So far, everything we tried was good and tasty.
The only letdown for me was the Milo ice. I expected the strong, sweet “kaw” Malay-style Milo, but theirs was lighter and the syrup taste felt a little different. Hopefully they can improve on this.
Usually, the place is crowded with long queues, but this time we were lucky – fewer people and faster service. The ayam bakar was slightly overcooked, but still very flavourful and tempting.
I’ll definitely return, and if the Milo ice gets that rich, traditional taste, I’d happily add...
