A shrine to plush bears, the Teddy Café straddles the line between kitsch and charm. Walk inside and you’re met with walls of stuffed animals, lattes topped with foamy bear heads, and plates of pasta and chicken chops shaped into smiling faces. It’s not about the food here, not really. It’s about novelty.
Still, the food isn’t terrible. At its best, it’s decent comfort food: mushroom soup satisfies, fried chicken with butter sauce surprises, carbonara tastes like indulgence. Portions are generous, prices mostly reasonable. Some dishes, like the satay burger or lamb stew, earn genuine praise. But just as often, the plates come bland, overcooked, or downright disappointing. Service swings from warm and cheerful to slow and careless. On a bad day, expect long waits, cold food, or a surly waiter who couldn’t care less.
The place thrives on moments, not meals. Kids lose their minds here. Families stage birthdays among mountains of bears. It’s a place where children can hug a bear bigger than themselves, where a plate of average pasta tastes better when a plush bear is seated across the table. For many, that’s enough.
But the cracks show if you look too closely. The bears aren’t always clean. The dining room is cramped, noisy, and chaotic, with parents letting their children run wild while the staff doesn’t bother to intervene. The washrooms need attention. The kitchen slows to a crawl when the café is full, which is often. And if you came for fine food, you’re in the wrong place.
The Teddy Café isn’t selling cuisine. It’s selling an escape, a memory, a photo. And in that, it delivers. It’s a carnival in the shape of a restaurant: charming, ridiculous, and, when taken on its own terms,...
Read moreThe Teddy at Petaling Jaya is a must-visit spot for any food lover. From the moment you step inside, you are greeted with a cozy and inviting atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. I recently visited this restaurant and ordered the chicken chop, chocolate, latte, and waffles. Let me tell you, I was not disappointed!
Firstly, let's talk about the food. The chicken chop was cooked to perfection and was full of flavor. The chicken was moist and juicy, and the sauce that accompanied it was the perfect blend of tangy and sweet. The portion size was just right, not too large or too small. The waffles were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, just the way I like them. The chocolate sauce was rich and decadent, and the latte was smooth and well-balanced. The food was definitely the highlight of my visit.
Moving on to the ambience, the restaurant had a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The lighting was just right, not too dim or too bright, and the décor was tasteful and modern. The seating was comfortable, and the restaurant was not too crowded, which made for a relaxing dining experience.
The service was exceptional, the staff was friendly and attentive, and they went out of their way to ensure that my dining experience was a memorable one. They were knowledgeable about the menu and were able to provide recommendations based on my preferences.
Overall, I highly recommend The Teddy at Petaling Jaya for anyone looking for a delicious meal in a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The food was excellent, the ambience was perfect, and the service was exceptional. It is definitely worth a visit, and I will definitely be...
Read moreSpent RM700 plus. Food was okay. Service was sucks for the money we spent and food we had. Restaurant space very narrow, not recommend for large gathering. I won't come back again due to the service, restaurant space and parking facility. Need to pay for parking. And be ready to miss the reservation if you didn't turn up as per booking time and they won't reserve your table for the 5 mins and if you late your table will goes to those walk-in.
The environment was nice, suitable for kids but the staffs face and behaviour like not suitable for this type of restaurant concept. No smile, dull face no greeting. Lack of hospitality service. Your menu price is not cheap but you also need to train your staff to maintain your brand reputation. Don't do business for sake of profit. Overall 1/5 ⭐
#This is for reply. Lol. You being sarcastic.
I paid for it and I have right to reply what I feel. Accept your disadvantage from your end when customer pointed it instead of using planet word, noisy word which is not respectful and unprofessional . Accept your minus. I'm not coming for free to dine in . Instead of replying here, you should be more thoughtful to handle situation on the spot last night instead of pointing about lychee, ribena all. So funny lol. Thank you for blacklisted my number so I won't be getting such a horrible moment again at The Teddy. WORST RESTAURANT EVER!
And you do mentioned 'thanks to 2 members' right.. Well... Thanks to that BTW.. Its me.. Im the 1 who came personally to your staff and gave him...
