Lots of people recommended this place so I went to have a try. Has a nice home cooked feel to the broth, however I have had better beef noodles in kl.
Update: I am editing my food review here because I have gotten a reply from the owner and I would like to give a comment and also an apology.
Update 2: Owners have edited their reply to my initial review above, taking away their negative comments and insinuations that by having some snacks at their premise which waiting for the food (which was not allowed hence the apology) compromised our objective review of their dishes. I'm adding this so that the story at the bottom then makes sense. As it was after MCO, my wife's super craving was to have the prawn crackers and "nian gau" from seapark, hence in our excitement at finally managing get them, we have missed out the no outside food sign and we only noticed it once we have finished snacking on the food. We would like to apologize to the owners for this violation and also the "mini mess" the crumbs caused. Thank you for your consideration for our time there.
Now that the apology has been given, I stand by my review. I have always taken my reviews seriously, as I try to be as objective about the taste as possible. I believe my comment is fair, and having some bites/snacks has totally no bearing on the verdict of the food in this restaurant. Malaysia with its hawker culture and vibrant food scene has always embraced having multiple dishes or types of food on a table during a meal, so how can the comment be unfair based on our food culture? We have always been able to rate food fairly even if that dish is not the only thing we tried in the restaurant/kopitiam.
It was an ok bowl of beef noodles with a nice home cooked feel to it. Just that in my opinion its not as good as some of the ones I had in KL. Taste is subjective and this opinion is my own and I'm sure that there are many who disagree with me and love your food. I have no qualms about that. What I do take offence is for an owner who instead of asking me on what I found lacking if he really wanted to know why my opinion was as such decided to question my review based on snacks and mixed food tasting that has totally no relation whatsoever,...
Read moreWorst experience ever, the shop owner is super rude. We just raise our hand to order food as there were only the owner cooking and another 1 staff is there.
After that, while the owner was taking order for another table, he then shouted to his other customer : Let them wait la if they are patient....while looking at us
We couldn't understand what get on his nerves seriously as we were waiting patiently for our turn also without doing or saying anything. Without further hesitation, we stood up and left the premise immediately right in front of him and his customer. He was so embarrassed...
The reviews of the shop owner by other customer is legit and after reading, I am fortunate that I didn't place any order.
: UNCLE CHENG, may I ask how do you manage to run a restaurant with 1 chef...
Read moreThu 8 Sep 2022. The last pit stops for lunch here on my weekly 'outing' day. The eatery is less than a 7-minute walk from the Taman Bahagia but it is not prominent during the day as it is obscured by the traditional dropped-down bamboo blinds place is cosy and dim but slightly hot due to poor ventilation and direct afternoon sun. I ordered a standard (A1) dry beef noodle (lai fun) with a side soup and takeaway meals of premium beef set (A3) plus beef balls soup. The beef and offals are tender but the sauce mix for the noodle does not give the beefy kick! Also, the soup does not have the typical beefy flavour and is too sour for my liking. The service is attentive and courteous. Prices are above average and parking is quite a challenge in the busy...
