My Honest Review I don't want to criticize you, but there is room for improvement on various levels, boss. I believe you have the capability.
The truly Indonesian flavor is lacking in some dishes. Some "Lauk" are good, but others are quite bad. Paru Goreng tastes plasticky, likely due to insufficient cleaning or lack of freshness. Sambal is good, but a bit more salt would make it superb. It's too oily; I understand it's supposed to be oily, but what I received is excessively oily, with 30% oil content. Some dishes lack a bit of saltiness and sweetness. I'm not sure if it's my taste buds or if Madura food is inherently different from Minang or Padang. For Malay taste, a slight balance of saltiness and sweetness is preferable. Ayam Gulai should use ayam kampung; the chicken itself cannot absorb the Indonesian gulai taste, and it feels less salty. The rice portion is average. If someone orders more than four "Lauk," a larger rice portion would be better. Sambal portion is too small for more than RM3. The overall feel of the food is okay but not great. It's an "Okay to Eat Rating," and I can still sense the Indonesian taste. However, some improvements are needed for consistency, ensuring it's consistently "Sedap Banget" (very delicious).
There's room for improvement in several areas. The QR scan app's UI/UX is bad; it's challenging to navigate. Consider investing in established brands like StoreHub or Slrp. Some staff members are rude; proper F&B education is needed. Training should include polite and helpful customer interactions. Got one staff a boy like "rempit style" when I ask where to find this and this. He like "Pergi Kaunter sana!" . Wow, The nicer ways is like. "Maaf Encik, Encik boleh ke kaunter untuk dapat lagi banyak informasi, maafkan kami kalau aplikasi ini ada masalah" . Its a waiter 101 I think. Ordering takes too long; while the food doesn't take as long as some reviews suggest, it's still not prompt. Consider reducing the number of tables; a focus on food and management improvement can lead to longer queues, showcasing demand. The environment is okay, with cleanliness and no lingering smells. Prices seem high for the portion size, possibly due to the Damansara area. Worth trying, but improvements are necessary for it to be considered truly worth it.
Advice:
Opt for the best web-app for QR orders. Allow customers to choose their own food to speed up the process in the small space. If aiming for a cozy concept, adjustments are needed. Improve the food variety; items like Sambal Tempe or any kind of Tempe Goreng should be available beyond just your set menu and can be order in the web-apps also. Improve the food taste, More Saltiness and Sweetness. Add more Tempe! Ensure proper training for all staff members, emphasizing politeness and helpfulness. Improve your...
Read moreIt’s been awhile I have a good Indonesian “warong” style food since I last worked in Kota Kinabalu. And then I stumbled upon a video by @ and I decided to give it a try.
If you like to eat Chinese style economic rice, you’ve come to the right place as they serve a variety of dishes for you to pick.
The first thing that piqued my interest was the Nasi Uduk (RM 6.80) and it served a lot in a plate with all the things I love. The tempeh, so crunchy; the sambal, so spicy and on point. The rice itself was quite fragrant. They even have the small portion of rice vermicelli for you to have a different texture, and it was stirred fried to the right dryness. If you have a pigeon stomach, I suggest you stop at this order. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ (if the set comes with the Bebek would be great, or I could have missed it on the menu. I was famished)
You know me, never settle at one dish. And there you go, the Bebek Madura ordered a la carte (RM15.80, expect 30 minutes wait as mentioned in the menu). It was served with another two different sambal, and it was damn good. Sambal aside, the duck, was way beyond my expectations. The meat was really juicy and tender, not even the slightest bit of dryness in it. And it tasted too 👍 with the sambal. The bone was easily picked off and disintegrated easily. Simply the best Bebek I’ve tried so far in my life. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
I’m a big fan of eggplant 🍆, so of course I ordered the Terung Sambal (RM 6.80, I think). By now you can already tell there’s a pattern to the order. Being a true Malaysian who likes the spiciness of food, the sambal in this dish was not too hot on the palate and the brinjal was quite cooked to a good consistency that it melts in your mouth. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ (probably a bit too pricey)
Otak-otak (RM 2 per piece, not in the picture) was your average spiced fish paste grilled to a perfect dryness. Not too gooey and dry, just about nice, but not too interesting that’s worth the picture. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
As for dessert, there’s this Lupis (RM 4). A traditional Kueh of glutinous rice drizzled with brown sugar syrup and lots of coconut grating. Nothing that’s too far fetched from our local kuih-muih scene. But if you’re craving for something sweet and can handle the load of carbohydrates from the glutinous rice, be my guest (they come in twos). ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ half
As for the drinks, I ordered a Tehbotol. Don’t ask me why, it doesn’t comes in Botol, but in a packet drink. They cut the sides of the box for you and pour into a cup of ice. Pretty standard box drink I would say.
All food above comes with extra 10% service charge.
DO NOT come during peak hours/public holidays. There’s limited seats and the wait can be long for the food to be served when they’re overwhelmed.
And yes, I might come back for other...
Read moreLong review but I hope it’s worth it. I would like the owner of this place to read and understand every single words I put in.
The 1st time I came here, I didn’t get the chance to eat and mind you, this place closed at 10pm. Me and my friends came at almost 9pm. We sat down, the waiters saw us and we continue to scan the QR. While we were looking at the foods, suddenly all of their foods are not available. When we asked, they said they already closed. It was not even 10pm.
2nd time coming here with my family.
My sister in law asked if we could sit inside but the waiter told her that we have to sit outside. So we sat down, the waiters saw us but do nothing with our table being dirty. One of them saw how dirty it was and I ended up calling one of them to get the table cleaned.
After our food arrived, we noticed that the table was too small for our foods, we decided to try our luck to change to the table inside. The PIC behind the counter saw what we were doing and rudely asking us if we had scan for food which I turned around to look at her with our 2 dishes in my hands. From then she understood and continue tapping on the screen annoyingly.
Then we noticed we were lacking of one vege dish and once again the PIC from the counter didn’t want to believe my wife and we told her to come to our table to see it for herself. In the end she replaced the ordered vege with something else because it was finished. You see, item finished don’t wanna say. We told her about the problem still don’t wanna trust us. We lie for what? It’s not like your boss gonna give me your monthly salary.
My final advice to that PIC. You need a better working attitude . If your excuse is tired, then don’t work. You are in a service line. We didn’t asked you to serve us like kings but we were hoping for a decent service. We didn’t do anything wrong to you at all. If this is your 1st time working in service line, I suggest take a course and learn to be better. Kalau kau tu melayu, aku nak tanya lah. Adab kau mana?
Lastly, we noticed that they stick a notification saying “Not allow to change the table seat after make the order” on the table only after we change our table. Refer photo.
Overall, food was good but please change the staffs attitude to be better. I can promise you that your place won’t stay open for long if you don’t make the necessary changes. I rarely write reviews but I believe I need to write you guys one. Thank you and...
