Overall the food is up to expectation and the portion is sufficient. I think this cafe owned by multi millionaire that they don't really care about customer service and returning customer. Their menu is weird, they have set 6pm for dinner under their SOP so you can't order your dinner even though you have seated at 5.30pm, you need to wait till 6pm in order for you to order your dinner. Weird? Millionaire's style? This is not the worse. The worse is, they are situated inside the Monocolo Boutique Hotel and they have a 15% discount for hotel guest. This hidden 15% discount can only be discovered if you watch the hanging TV at the lobby area, there isn't any signage nor the cashier will ask you if you are the hotel guest upon paying your bill. Hence this fake promo for hotel guest is just for show, when I discovered this promo, I called them but the owner refused to honour this discount with excuses such as they will not ask due to many guests don't like the cashier to ask them whether they are hotel guest and can enjoy 15% discount!!! I am speechless when they gave me this excuse. Another excuse is, they got cheated ONCE by a customer claiming he/she is the hotel guest (I wonder how they can identify the fake customer) and because of this isolated case, they will never ask nor display the signage at the cashier counter so nobody can cheat them, but in return all their hotel guests got cheated paying full price. This case is no longer about money but whether the discount is genuine and sincere, or otherwise. Service was bad no waitresses or waiters paid any attention to our table… had to wave for quite sometime to get their attention to give us menus did not served us the warm water we ordered, in fact, i had to walk to the counter to request for them to serve us our drinking water cutleries were served to us in a pile mains were out before the entree same main item being served at different times (about 10-15 mins apart)
Ambience was uncomfortable for dining in music was too load no sound insulation, voices were echoed and bounced around, making it very unpleasant on the ears and making it an unpleasant meal low ceiling
Very very very limited parking, lots of cars had to park on the steep slope

Read moreWe stayed at monocolo hotel, found that there's an advertisement on each table showing free beer for birthday, in the morning before we heading out, we walked in and politely enquired, the staff informed that yes free beer for birthday (only for exact date), we acknowledge and told will come back in night. At night, we drop by to get a cake and redeem the beer for my boy. Another staff serve us to seat and I told that we want to redeem the bday beer. So after we ordered some snack n cake, another staff walked over and inform that the beer is out of stock. Well, I mean you could have replace another drink since you are advertising it. He said nope, no replacement of other drinks. Honestly speaking the experience was so bad. Totally ruined our mood. Anyway, the fries were salty. But the choc mousse cake is delicious.
