Ken Salad Chicken Rice — Restaurant in Sarawak

Accidentally stumbled upon this shop while looking for a place to eat.

Was surprised at how big the chicken is for RM12.50 as they serve you the whole chicken quarter (thigh only) to you. That alone is tough to beat in terms of hawker shop pricing. Photos are showing the special (quarter thigh portion) and normal (either drumstick or thigh part alone).

The chicken skin is very crispy while the meat still retains its juiciness. The rice itself leans more towards lemongrass/serai flavor- some may not favour it as theres people out there who prefers it to be more umami/oily chicken flavour. But nonetheless it complements well for my liking. We came at 1130am and the crowd was not there yet. The shoplot area can be very crowded so parking is actually very hard to come by. Managed to get 1 slot right infront of the shop during my visit there.

Normal salad chicke rice, just a smaller portion of chicken leg goes at RM7. Special salad chicken rice comes with the whole thigh and drumstick, goes at RM12.50.

If you want just the whole thigh + drum without the rice, then it's RM11.

PS: Also tried their kolo mee (because why not), and its pretty good too. Their wonton has a slight cooking wine taste,...

The food are nice. But the service of the woman staff Damn bad. I asked abt my food and she forgot but no apologise. I wait so long, and when I asked her, She just ignore me. Even the cashier man.
