Paid a day trip to Sekinchan with the family and of course had to try the seafood. Don't know which restaurant to choose as there were so many of them thus just decided on one.

Arrived at 11.30am from KL and we were one of the first groups to be seated. Food arrived quite promptly. Greedy as usual we ordered their

⚫ Crab with fried rice vermicelli - of course the star of the dish were the crabs and they are undeniably fresh. The whole plate came with at least two whole crabs and when we asked it was slightly more than two kgs. The rice vermicelli though was nothing to shout about as they were quite plain. Portion is huge and according to the staff, it's standard size. 😏😏 Suggestion is to skip this and order their crab dishes instead

⚫ Salt and pepper mantis prawn. Decent. Very crunchy and prawns were fresh. However the salt and pepper taste is a bit lacking and thus I felt like we were just eating deep fried mantis prawns

⚫ Superior soup lala. This was one of the dishes which I thought was good. Generous amount of clams and all of them were with plump meat (ie, no empty clam shells). The soup was very umami and flavourful, so recommended! However I felt super thirsty for the rest of the day so it might be laden with MSG!

⚫ Kam heong baby squid. Similarly the squid were fresh and not overcooked (not rubbery) Another dish which I thought was good and would recommend. Decent amount of squid unlike some places which piles you with the other 'stuff' like onions and another aromatics

⚫ Last but not least - brussel sprouts stir fry. Also one of the good ones but I might be biased cos I need my greens. The vegetables were fresh too and stir fried to perfection, although the portion is slightly small. Also would recommend!

We paid RM196 for the four of us and considering the number of dishes we ordered, the price is quite decent. Wouldn't be able to get this price in KL definitely but need to cost in the time and other costs driving...

Went around 12 noon on a weekday and it was not so crowded. The welcome was nothing spectacular. The waitress was not able to converse in English but understood decent Malay. The restaurant does not have seaview as claimed by some people. However, it is situated in the fishermen's village. Environment clean. Parking space was limited. They pretty well adhered to SOP. Ordered Thai style Kerapu Fish. The fish was big, fresh and tasted delicious especially the Thai sauce was stupendous The creamy butter prawns were awesome. The mixture was really tasty and the prawn was fresh too. The mixed vege was good. However, the crab meehoon was a total downer. The crab tasted bland and there was very little flesh in it. My wife didnt like the bihun that came along with the crab . Should have heeded to the waitresses indirect recommendation when I asked her whether the crab was fleshy at the point of ordering where she said " if you have no confidence then do not order". Overall the price was very reasonable and I guess you got to be very careful on what dish you order as it makes a big difference. Would...

I'm definitely not going to visit this restaurant again! I had no choice but to go here because our usual restaurant in Sekinchan was closed (most restaurants were closed that day, as it was Thursday). Being Indian, when we go to a Chinese restaurant, we usually ask for recommendations or their best-selling dishes. However, this time, the only person taking orders, a lady, was rude to us when we asked for suggestion. She handed us the menu and instructed us to choose from it.

Unfortunately, most of the items we asked for were unavailable. Since we were hungry and had already been seated, we had no choice but to randomly order four dishes. The "mixed vegetables" consisted only of cauliflower, a few carrots, and some beans. The kung pao chicken was watery, the chilled tapioca leaves with garlic were bland, and the fried baby squid was mostly crumbs. The portions were quite large and the prices were a bit high. Overall, the food tasted very plain, and I would definitely not recommend this...

This place is exactly like time warped from the seventies or eighties: rundown shack without any proper signage. Very basic tables and plastic chairs only. Dishes served are simple home cooking with simple taste. Teochew style steamed fish is very mild in taste and overcooked. Squid kongpoh style has very mild kick and minimum wok hei. Preserve veg ham choy soup maintain the overall plain theme. Exception is the deep fried mantis prawn; crispy minimum flour so that the taste of the prawns is appreciated. Service is minimum. Tea refill is self service. Teapot is small with mismatched cover. Really very kampung like of the yesteryears. Prices unfortunately has fast forwarded to present time. Not so expensive but for that food served in that environment is classified under 'Never to return' category.
