15.08.2025 Friday 0735am breakfast here with mom. First time. And this place is more expensive than other mamak around this area. One piece of roti canai is RM2.10; I can get RM1.80 in Asiba. Normal nasi lemak is RM5.50; RM4.80 in Asiba. Service is slow and not consistent. The roti canai came first but the nasi lemak I thought they have to cook the rice first because it came after 6-7 minutes plus after the roti canai and only when I asked the waiter about it. At that time, it was less than 10 customers and yet they didn't even clean the table next to me. Piles of dirty plates were left on the table. Tissues can be seen here and there on the floor. Roti canai was crispy on outside and soft on the inside but the gravy is disappointing and lack in flavor. Fish curry was thick, felt like it was mixed with a lot flour. Dhall was right texture but no taste. My nasi lemak rice was nice in texture, lack of santan and moderately ginger, onions flavor in it. Sambal was cooked with chilli both, watery texture with onions and ikan bilis. Flavor...
Read moreFood there is alright compared to a lot of the restaurants nearby but service and receipt recording system is absolutely ridiculous. I went there during lunch and got 3 types of vegetables, 3 types of chicken and a packet of curry campur to go without rice so it was only an order of several dishes and the receipt said I ordered 2 nasi campur and 4 vegetables, that itself was a confusion but I just paid only to realise once I got back home, they forgot to put in the packet of curry campur. Then when I came back several hours later to claim my curry campur, they said it wasn't recorded in the receipt and that I had to purchase it. No receipt to attach here bcs wonderful guy took it and never returned it. PLEASE IMPROVE YOUR SYSTEM AND RECORD THE ITEMS PROPERLY, DON'T PUT THINGS WE DIDN'T ORDER IN THE RECEIPT. IT'S...
Read moregood pitstop en route to sport district. plus there's fresh milk. pretty much exclusively in neighborhood. these folk clearly care about presentation, but also handle basics. mind sweetness levels though.
fish curry is particularly good, with asam kicking hardest in team effort. regulation dhal with sambal is also up there. former is substantive and comforting, while latter packs spicy tasty kick.
ayam bawang is excellent. ditto perut. fried chicken notch below at ok.
can also vouch for roti, tosai and puri.
sup tulang is superlative. stereo heat from pepper, and (surprisingly) ginger. ox is tasty, but chewy, especially off tail. veg within rounds off bowl of solid heart and soul.
also worth checking out: grilled chicken, with inverse-scale pricing. enables cryptid fantasy of...
