Gamelan Restaurant Ara Damansara (Dataran PHB) — Restaurant in Shah Alam

This place is situated at the centre courtyard of the Peremba Square office buildings. Their target customers, I believe are the office tenants from Peremba Building and other offices nearby. Nasi campur with their lauk dishes were great with a wide variety of selection and also tasted quite flavourful. As for prices, average is around RM9 for a plate of rice with 1 serving of protein (1 average scoop of buttered chicken) and 1 egg. On top of that, prices they charged are not consistent and sometimes might differ according to gender, based on multiple observations. At one instance, my female colleague who took more or less like what I took and the portions were pretty much similar was charged RM6.50 whereas I was charged RM9. At one time I took rice with 2 dishes and added on 2x karipap for to-go and put it in the provided plastic container, the lady who evaluated the food took into account the karipap because I saw her keyed it in the system when handing the number card. Total was RM11, which I find it not unusual. However, after eating and about to pay at the counter, a different lady at the counter charged me RM13 instead. Why the discrepancy? Stupid me for not asking reasoning on the difference. List of prices for lauk dishesare not available in this restaurant, or maybe I just missed it. Located near Saujana resort, a bungalow style restaurant specialize in Terengganu delicacies like Nasi Dagang,Laksam etc. Very spacious and comfy seating, service is pretty friendly. They also sell mixed rice like buffet style.--4* Nasi Dagang is authentic and true to Terengganu style. Curry is slightly on the sweet side in a good way. Ikan Ayer is fresh and tasty,rice is tad on the hard side.--4.5* Laksam--the white fish sauce is flavourful and balance,tad on savoury side. With the belachan it is pretty additive.Laksam is smooth and silky.--4.5* Nasi Minyak--the beef curry is tasty and nice, rice slightly on the hard side. The chicken is aromatic with Lempah, with the sambal it is enjoyable.--4* If you are from Terengganu, a place to enjoy our local delicacies here. MSG tad on the high side. 4.5* for me....

It was a terrible experience. I ordered the night before 15 packets of nasi kerabu ayam berempah, and specifically said we will come and collect it at 11am. When I reached, the food was barely prepared!! Chicken belum sampai..a whole bunch of excuses for their incompetency! I had to wait an hour before the food was ready to be taken away! Such a waste of my time, and I even had to postpone my appointment! What’s the point of ordering the day before when I still have to wait an hour to collect it??
