Update : 17/10/2019 Thosai has since improved and was very good, highly recommended.
Earlier : Surprising Five Star treat item in an ordinary looking Mamak Bistro. Food items were generally average or above average.
There were a couple of items which I have found out to be very good, Rojak and Medu Vada.
Rojak would be served after 12 pm, it was very good with fresh ingredient and tasty sauce which was a little sweet and savoury. It would be practically the best rojak I have had thus far.
The food portion used to be a little too small. They have increased food portion without increasing price which I think was a big plus point. Highly recommended item. Best rojak I have tasted so far.
Medu Vada, a savoury South Indian tea time treat, would regularly be served in the evening after 4.30 pm. I happened to be there just after 4.30 pm, the Medu Vadas were still piping hot. I took two pieces with Chutney. Chutney is a coconut based sauce cooked with ginger, other spices and ingredients. Fresh out of the oil, the Medu Vada was crispy on the outside and spongy on the inside. Medu Vadas served here were tasty enough to be eaten on its own. Biting through the thin crispy skin into the tasty and spongy internal and chewing with the richly flavoured Chutney sauce was actually quite heavenly ! I could have easily eaten four if I did not have dinner coming up.
Normally I would be there after 6.30 pm and missed the "timing". It's all about timing for this fantastic treat.
For me, Medu Vada would definitely be a 5 star treat here at the right time.
Update : Chutney could be inconsistent, too much onion used sometimes, this ruined the overall taste a little. A little more onion would make the chutney taste like chicken rice sauce ! Hopefully, they can maintain some consistency here.
Sometimes they would serve Masala Vadas instead which were very good too with Chutney. For me, it would be the Medu Vadas anytime, but they do not seem to serve it everyday.
Drinks, Roti Canai and Dosai would be slightly above average.
I would prefer Roti and Dosai with a different texture, somewhat softer. What they served here were tougher than what I'd like.
Prices were reasonable. For example, two pieces of Medu Vada with lime juice for RM 3.50. Rojak biasa at RM 4.50.
Food Rating: Rojak ~ 4.5 stars
Medu Vada with Chutney ~ 4.5 stars (downgraded due to inconsistent Chutney)
Masala Vada with Chutney ~ 4 stars Dosai and Roti ~ 3 stars
Decor rating: 3 stars Cleanliness: 3 stars

Read moreThe cashier overcharges on card
This happened to me twice already. And I raised it each time it happened, so this was definitely no coincidence. The first time it happened, he quoted the price after I prompted to pay by card which I can see he input 1 ringgit extra and told him about it, he rectified it for me. The second time it happened, he overcharged by 2 ringgit. Told it was 10, then when i ask to pay by card he didn't even bother to tell me he was charging me for 12. Only when I asked he told me 'it was actually 12'. Clearly trying to scam ppl of their money thinking they didn't notice. Don't come here until this behavior is fixed. Shame the food is...
Read moreKuddos to 2 staff of srb, Abang Ghani and Abang Nazir both friendly and they serve you like you're a guest to their home. Food is delicious especially the ayam goreng here. Customer service is good although lunch time there is a heavy crowd. I've seen this shop improving from time to time on hygiene and cleanliness too. Just that the inner part of the shop is usually hot at lunch time and the network connection inside the restaurant is weak. Overall definitely a great place to lepak and have...
