The Radia business and residential park at Bukit Jelutong has a pretty vibrant and lively mix of shops, with a supermarket, a couple of mamak shops, and coffee houses too. What stands out is this bakery which boasts of its cinnamon rolls.
Parking here is never quite an issue, unless its during peak times. But if you're lucky enough, parking right at the doorstep is possible. The store has indoor and some outdoor tables, and COVID-19 has ensured that the place is never at full capacity as strict social distancing rules apply.
The storefront invites you to come in and explore inside as a full glass wall allows viewing into the store itself. The right side is a display or the various cinnamon rolls and also the order/payment counter, whilst the left side are the tables for seating. It's quite cosy whilst giving a very airy feeling about the place.
The lineup of the cinnamon rolls are a delight to the senses - various flavours including chocolate (and all its variants), coffee, plain with raisins are here. But there are some which really pique the curiosity like pandan and even a pizza flavoured one too.
Prices are reasonable and the rolls are baked fresh daily, in fact there could be a few rounds of baking too, if the demand is high.
The rolls are very good, and so is the coffee. It's a great place to chill on a weekday afternoon (forget about the weekends, it's normally pretty crowded) and I would recommend popping by for a try.
By the way, having just one cinnamon roll is never enough - I'll bet you'll be taking home...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThey're BJ's fancy cinnamon roll shop so they have nothing to worry about. From their gorgeous selection of rolls to breakfast choices, you'll definitely find something you'll like. My only two complaints are these: They are not very generous-- the size of their baked goods and dishes are small compared to the price. Take their smoked salmon bagel for instance-- priced at RM 21, yet filled with very little cream cheese and salmon. (Also, they should stop using kewpie sauce as the sauce for their bagel; they should be embarrassed about that-- they could also slice their onions better)-- better to head to the new 'Petite Maison' and order their breakfast beef hash which is way tastier and about the same price! Occasionally, their dough is LIAT. I've no idea why this is a problem for them when they're so well-known and beloved. They should make sure that their dough is more edible, because there have been many times when it's hard to chew, in certain parts of my cinnamon roll or bagel. For this I think just don't heat up products in the microwave because it dries it up-- hence become harder-- consider investing in a toaster oven or oven. Besides that can use a mix of high and low protein flour, and don't overmix ingredients (only just until they've all incorporated then stop quickly). Overbaking may be the cause too, and using too little leavening agents. (I asked ChatGPT for you,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIn terms of their cinnamon rolls, its good. The texture is similar to how you would eat a cinnamon roll from cinnabon but with a lot more variety of cinnamon rolls. However, in terms of their service it can be said to be subpar.
No friendly-ness whatsoever and when i went up to the counter i looked at the cashier for a good 1-2 minutes and she was blankly staring off in the distance while i was right infront of her not acknowledging my presence at all. And when i tried to order she only then told me i had to order before going to the cashier. Why didn't anyone tell me that before i reached there when i was browsing their selections of cinnamon rolls for a good 3-5 mins? The other workers were also absent minded never even inquiring as to what i wanted. Is saying 'Hi how may i help you?' So hard? Did no one trained you to provide service or is it you just could not be bothered? Please train your staff to be better at their service...
