Sombrero Foods @ Bkt Jelutong — Restaurant in Shah Alam

The visit today was very very disappointing. The food remains tasty & delicous as before. The service & hospitality are of the different end of the spectrum.

There were only 2 tables when we walked in, one table looks like they are finishing their meal & the other table is in the middle of their meal.

There was only one staff (not local) manning the dining area. He provide us the menu promptly. After the order taking process, things started going downhill. We have to wait for more than 40 min for the first glass of drinks to be served (which came together with the first plate of meal. We have to asked for the cutleries as the staff seems to forget to bring it over. The rest came 1 by one within the next 10 min. But the last 2 drinks only came after both my sons already more than halfway through their meal. When we asked the staff his answer was - yes, yes. From my observation, it seems that the staff was not effective or productive. He always look busy behind the counter but our drinks (6 glasses) took more than 40 min to recoeve the first glass. I believe there were few deluvery orders that came in but to capture the orders & send it to the kitchen will not take more than few seconds.

To the owner of the place, please take note and employ a more competent person to manage the outlet or provide training & coaching for him to be more effective & productive. I would like to continue patronizing the outlet in the future but with this kind of service standard, it would be very difficult for us to continue going there. I believe this also apply to other customers.

I hope the owner can take these comments as constructive feedback as I want to continue to support the outlet and come back more...

I’m reviewing fairly, only on the food I’ve tried.

The Beef Taco, you use burger type mince beef instead of Mexican flavored Shredded Beef. With tasteless salsa, only few slices of roasted green and red pepper worth of less than 5 grams in it. I don’t see any form of guacamole+sour cream in it. Full of out of taste fillers, loads of cabbages (more than half of the taco) further pushing the taste out of continent.

Your Mexican Flag tagged “Slow-Cooked Beans” is filled with Mung Beans which is so unMexican. The “Pico de Gallo Salsa”, also with proud Mexican Flag in the menu, to me, is just like ‘Jelatah’ Nasi Minyak Orang Kahwin.

Your Beef Taco scored 1/10 and high-priced as compared to the famous Órale’ cafe. You crushed people‘s hope, expecting juicy and flavorsome taste of standard taco. Imagine what would real Mexican say tasting your tacos.

I hope you can be fair in the future. The bottom line here is, you took my money, and I’m extremely disappointed with your products...

It was my first time here. Me and my younger brother went in with thinking the food will be fast since there was only one other table with customers. Our food took more than half an hour to come, and it was very disappointing and not worth the wait. I ordered the burrito set for either 12.90 or 14.90 around there. I've had shawarmas outside for 5rm that were far bigger and better than what I got. Portion was small and the fries were probably the ones you get from the frozen packets. My brother ordered the fajita, which was slightly better but still, it was disappointing that it took so long to receive what we got.

Would I come back? No not likely.

Would I recommend it? Well, maybe it's because their sets aren't that up to par. I read other reviews that show that their dishes are tastier. So if I were you, I would try the other dishes instead of the sets if you really are craving for...
