Orked City — Restaurant in Shah Alam

I'm a local who lives very nearby hence am always looking for cafes to do work/study.

Pros: Nice cozy ambiance, great food & coffee, and spacious (hard to come by spacious cafes these days). Solid cafe basics. Opens at 7am - which is amazing. They have a surau.

Points for improvement/suggestions: There's no wifi, so can't rlly do work/study. The space has big potential as a third space for people who wanna hv coffee, breakfast and do work since its spacious and have seats near plug points. Esp during weekdays where sales is usually lower compared to weekends, its a good way to attract customers by just having wifi.

It's quite nearly impossible to get in contact for any queries etc before coming. I wanted to ask about wifi, but their instagram messages are disabled and there's no phone number or any other contact info on google or IG. Appreciate if there's a medium for queries/etc.

Prices are on the steeper side. RM12-18 for drinks, food (the brioche buns and english muffins) ranges around the same price. Minimum RM30-40 per person, which is about the price of a full lunch.

Giving a 3 because still have room for growth and lots of potential....

Came across this cafe on Google Maps to kill some time while doing my laundry. There were 7 other people in the cafe and everyone seemed to be having a good time enjoying their conversation in a comfortable space.

I requested the barista to recommend some drinks and decided to go for their Stratcha (🍓+🍵). I'm not a big fan of matcha but decided to try it out, and it did not disappoint me. Matcha taste isn't as strong which I prefer, and strawberry has that jam/spread kinda taste which also pleasantly surprised me.

Decided to add on tiramisu since I've been obsessed with it lately (blame the tiramisu cake song on TT). It's on the sweeter side with a very mild hint of coffee. Take this information as you will, but I don't mind my tiramisu sweet. A sharing portion though since I came here alone and was struggling to finish it.

The baristas and people behind the counter were friendly and helpful, even said to come by for dinner as they serve pasta from 6 pm onwards (iirc).

Has a very cosy feel with great air ventilation and air conditioning. Come by and check out this place if you’re looking for a casual...

I’m here for the first time. At 7.40am, I was greeted with friendliness and warmth by two gentlemen. I think I’m the first customer to arrive today. The cafe has a pleasant and inviting ambiance. I placed an order for a café latte and a sunny egg muffin. When compared to other cafes, I would say that the prices of the food and beverages here are relatively high. However, I was extremely impressed with the muffin and the taste of the coffee. The muffin is delicious enough to be enjoyed by itself, without the need for an egg, especially if you’re a fan of bread. Bravo to the team.

P/S: I have some suggestions for the other commenters. It would be great if we could avoid discussing political matters, like boycotting McDonald’s, and instead concentrate on sharing our thoughts about the food, services, and environment. Comparing them wouldn’t be fair since they operate in...
