Restoran Kar Heong 家香怡保河粉芽菜鸡饭 （Setia Alam) — Restaurant in Shah Alam

6/8/23: Went with family, 6 adults and 2 kids. Was greeted and led to table, but the air-con place is rather tiny and quite crowded, it was kind of hot and noisy. Food: We ordered steamed and oven baked chicken, half each, one whole piece of char siew, one big portion of blanched bean sprouts, 4 laksa noodle bowl with clam and rice for kids. Steamed chicken was a bit overcooked and dry but acceptable. Over baked chicken was good, meat was tender and juicy not dry or overcooked. Bean sprouts was not the normal slim long type or fat thick type, it is somewhere in between, taste crunchy and fresh. Laksa noodle's taste was a bit diluted or thin to my taste, may be less coconut milk. Clam was small type, not the big type that my preference and expectation. Rice was oil rice and kids like that. Char siew was fine, should have requested sauce on the side cause it is all over the meat, covered the char siew taste already. The char siew meat was fine, we requested to be half meat and half fat and they sent us as what we had requested. Service: Main person was 3 ladies, one in the cashier table and 2 taking order, at the same time, many foreign workers help to send, deliver and answer to request. They are well aware of customer whenever customer raise hand or even look at them, instead of pretend not noticing or ignoring customers. The 3 ladies were effective and fast, more importantly, not only they don't raise their voice with customers due to the noisy environment, they was they talk or order instruction to the workers also quite polite. Over all service level is way above average or acceptable level. Atmosphere: I think the table layout need to be reshuffled to make use of the space in the shop better. Tables, chairs and floor were a but oily though there is not tissue paper, bones or rubbish on the floor. Because crowded and tiny walkway, i didn't use the toilet. Air-con can be improved further, at least colder air con helps to cold down the hot temperature from outside. Overall: Total bill was RM150+ which i think is justifiable and reasonable. Chicken was not fresh and not fully cooked very chewable fresh pink flesh Call up the staff one thin lady serve us with one kind staring look and put question mark face saying something in Chinese to my next table customers even I dunt understand what she saying but with that kind of attitude I dint see any mature there. I am not here for your free food I am paying up also then she did change up the food and keep on looking and cursing something in her mouth I am totally disappointed with her attitude another one thing there is one staff guy with spectacle who always smoking and sitting in front the shop which is near to the chicken cutting up area and I saw he straight way serving customer wt not washed his hand.this shop really need to focus on...

If not for one particular thin, young Chinese lady, i would rate this place higher! That lady is rude, has no concept of customer service, acting as though customers owe her money.
