Situated in Glenmarie, E&O is now one of the hotspots for lunch in the area, competing against a myriad of other choices in the same area.
Parking is actually not that bad. even for weekdays. If you can't find streetside parking near the shop, there is an open air MBSA car park lot at the back of E&O. You just need to walk a bit to get to the place.
It's a corner shoplot, and the first thing that strikes me is the cleanliness of the place. Everything is bright, clean and well covered up so that it minimises exposure.
There are two seating areas. The one that's near the entrance where the food is displayed, and if you walk over past the cashier counter, you will find the adjoining shoplot housing another dining area that's air-conditioned.
I was there for lunch with two other friends, and we didn't have the curry fish head but was thinking of saving it for another trip when more people join the group.
You could either order your dishes to be placed on your rice, nasi kandar style, or you could have them serve it in separate platters, which enables sharing.
The food is very reminiscent of my childhood days in Penang, eating at Dawood or Hameediyah. Even the taste of the fried chicken immediately threw me back. The curries were also super fragrant and very well, spiced.
We were a little taken aback with the pricing of certain items, though. We didn't have any sotong or prawns, but the mantis prawns were just as expensive, which was a bit of a jolt. Otherwise, everything else was expected.
Would I return? Yes! It's a great alternative to the regular mamak/nasi kandar restaurants, and again... the place...

Own by Chinese by runs by malay workers. 5 of us went for lunch since it is near to our office. Order medium curry fish head, fried sotong, fried chicken, acar, blanch cabbage with oyster sauce and of course papadam. Dishes all tasty and the fish head is huge. Plenty of meat but need digging as the flesh is firm. Curry is cooked with lady fingers, long beans and tau foo pok. Lots of Indian spices. Service is prompt. Group get to dine in the next room with air cond. A bit pricy but treat yourself once in a while. Being coming back every now and then. They sell roti canai and nasi lemak in the morning. Quite crowded. Came again in the morning to eat their roti canai but sold out at 9.30am. The roti is fluffy but the best part of course is the curry and dhall. So I eat their not bad nasi lemak bungkus. I came back again the next morning at 9am and managed to get 2 roti canai. I will recommend both but do come early to avoid disappointment. Parking in the morning is no issue. The price is...
Read moreVisited the glenmarie branch of this restaurant. Was hungry after a morning pool swim. Wanted to sample the curry, fried chicken and some boiled vege. I didn't realise the restaurant was local chinese-managed until i tasted the food. It wasn't amiss but it was the preparation, taste and presentation was much more refined. The chicken meat was pressure cooked then fried. It was moist but come off the bone easily. The oil was stale. The blanched cabbage with onion oil and boiled ladies fingers drizzled with curry oil, very sublime. The curry, thickened, creamy and rounded in taste. Sweet, salty, a bit starchy and spicy. The fishiness blended in. Like a japanese curry over something you'll find at the mamak, you know. You have to try it to experience a different interpretation of a fish head curry. Worth a slightly premium...
