For anyone wanting to try something different from the usual fare, Shan Pakistan Restaurant in Kota Kemuning might be something worth considering. The dĂ©cor gives a slightly upmarket feel but the prices are surprisingly affordable. The staff were very cordial and helpful with the food recommendations â a good sign especially for those unfamiliar with Pakistani fare. The Aalu Naan (naan with mashed potato inside) is definitely a dish not seen in the normal mamak restaurants. The mashed potatoes blended well with the naan giving it a balance of earthy potatoes and the smoky richness of naan bread. The garlic naan on the other hand, has a garlicky flavour as expected but without being overwhelming. Both went well with the Chicken Korma â which comes with four slices of chicken. The chicken is tender and absorbs the creamy sauce. The flavour is smooth with a gentle warmth of spices. Palak Paneer is essentially spinach pureed into a smooth velvety sauce. It tastes mildly grassy; not sharp like raw spinach. On the whole, the Palak Paneer tastes mildly spiced and creamy â a cozy balance of greens and dairy. The Paanir Puri is also another dish not often seen in other restaurants. It is served in five little balls with a bowl of sourish gravy. It gives a versatile yet neutral taste. I think i asked for SHAMI KEBAB, but seems like we got the aalu kebab. Im also not very sure as this is the first time im having it. Of all the dishes we ordered, this is the worst for us. Price wise, maybe affordable, but its not worth the taste. Highly wont recommend. 0.5/5 stars.
Shan pakistan special rice This is just a simple fried rice with egg, bell peppers, carrot, n too much oil. Comes with a skewer of kebab (this one is quite nice), 4pcs of chicken meat (also good), slices of boiled egg. Again, nothing to brag about this. 3/5 stars.
Qeema Naan Naan topped with sesame seeds, stuffed with i dont know, some meat?... Comes with a gravy and the mayonnaise. Edible. Nothing much to say. Gravy a bit salty. Mayonnaise quite sour. 3/5 stars.
Sweet lassi This is quite nice. Just a perfect taste for me. Really affordable price. 4.90 for a glass. 6/5 stars.
Overall, the vibe is nice, tip top service, waited for the food for like 20-30mins, air-cond really cold. A big thanks to the cashier uncle for just charging us rm50. âșïžâșïž
Maybe only will come here again for the lassi.. Nothing else. But seriously, RM 0.90 for a glass of warm water is quite expensive. And please do something about the glass edges on the table. My husband's arms already got...
